A special wood case for the X PRO 1 spotted! Fujifilm Pro membership coming!

The french blog Photo Fusina (Click here) received that special X PRO 1 package from Fuji (cat not included says the author). The wood case included:
– The three lenses (18mm/f2, and a 35mm/f1.4 60mm/f2.4 with their respective Lens Hoods.
– Leather case with X PRO 1 camera included
– An UV filter,
– The grip,
– Lens cleaning set
– Various small accessories such as case for the UV Filter, CD, battery, …
– Fujifilm SD card 64GB

The author says that Fuji told him that he is now part of the “Fujifilm Pro membership“. This is a new initiative from Fuji and they will soon launch a new website for the “PRO members”. What the author doesn’t know is if that special box will be go for sale for anyone or just for PRO members. As you know Fuji launched a special all Black X100 limited edition so there is a chance they will do something similar with the X PRO 1 too! Let’s cross your fingers!

New full Fuji X PRO 1 review by Ken Rockwell

Ken Rockwell (Click here) the most famous photography blogger posted his final X PRO 1 review: “The Fuji X-Pro1 is an amazing one-of-a-kind camera. It has image quality and lenses more like my LEICA M9 than any DSLR, and it’s smaller and lighter than any DSLR — or LEICA. The X-Pro1 does what the LEICA M9 does well, even better than the M9 does it!”

Overall he is pretty impressed by the Fuji and recommends it to anyone that doesn’t shoot mainly landscapes (for that FF cameras are still better).

Brandon Remler (Click here) is testing the 60mm macro lens which is also the best of all three X lenses: “The sharpness is great and it’s a terrific lens to own.“

Our reader John Smith (Click here) posted a set of X PRO 1 pictures taken with the “old” Leica Tele Elmarit lens. I hope to see more tests with third party lenses. I think they will work better than on other mirrorless cameras. The NEX-7 for example has terrible corner issues on many lenses. But I hope Fuji will “steal” the peaking mode idea from Sony. That would help us a lot to focus with manual lenses!

New Fuji X PRO 1 firmware released!!!

Fuji Japan (Click here) just announced the release of the new 1.01 firmware for the X PRO 1. It brings following improvements:

  • 1.Reduction of chattering noise from iris of lenses in shooting mode.
  • 2.Improvement of phenomenon that parallax compensation does not work under condition of manual focus with OVF bright frame mode.
  • 3.Improvement of phenomenon that OVF quality as low visibility due to too bright OVF under the condition of power save mode during pressing the shutter button halfway.
  • 4.Improvement of phenomenon that delete function does not work after viewing continues shooting mode images.

Also the X PRO 1 RAW converter has been improved (now version 3.2.9.1) and imrpoves the image quality.
