Fuji X-T1 in stock check: [shopcountry 21553]

_ _ _

Times for home-made solutions and fixes for the D-pad buttons could soon be over.

In fact, according to a new source, Fuji has prepared a “button upgrade” option that will be available to buy for any existing X-T1 owner. Pricing should be available and finalized in no more than 2 weeks.

The new source wasn’t able to tell me if this would require the camera to be sent to service.

NOTE: just some of the very early first production X-T1 are affected by the “mushy” buttons. If you are not one of those who grabbed one of the very first cameras, then this rumor is of no interest for you.

Upcoming XF18-55 and XF55-200 deals

But the next deals are coming very soon according to a source, which has now been upgraded to “trusted”, as it was always right.

Big Fuji Show: X200 and X-PRO2 to be announced at photokina? (source – mirrorlessrumors)

At BHphoto you can get the X-PRO2 screen protector now and the camera in about 6 months (according to mirrorlessrumors) ;-)

_ _ _

Big Fuji show at the photokina, at least according to mirrorlessrumors here: They say that Fuji will announce both, the X-PRO2 and X200 (both, according to mirrorlessrumors, with non organic new ASP-C X-Trans sensor) at the photokina (September).

They also say, that the X30 will feature a 1” sensor (while xjrumo said here the sensor will be bigger than 1”) and come earlier (dpr rumored here July 3rd).

Well, despite my pretty tough stress period at my day job, I’ll try to dig up something for you as soon as I can… and of course, any sincere help is warmly welcome.

You can contact me at fujirumor [at] gmail.com or 100% anonymously via rumor box (if you use it, feel free to create a nick name, so that I can eventually recognize you in future.)

In the meantime you can already purchase the Expert Shield Screen Protector for the X-PRO2 at BHphoto.

The elusive (and “phenomenal”) XF56mm f/1.2 in stock at BestBuy!

Share

 photo as_zps63964a92.png

Today Andrew Warren Wilson contacted me on my facebook page and said: “Hey Patrick, I recently acquired a 56mm and have done a few commercial shoots as of late. It’s a phenomenal lens. Probably the sharpest I’ve ever owned. The sharpness at 1.2 is stellar. This goes for any opening (that I tried)! The Bokeh is dreamy. I can’t get enough of its build and clarity and sharpness. My only grip is blemishes. I have to do a ton of post processing to clean up the detail that this lens picks up. Included are a few images. Feel free to include a link to my site for more examples! (the site does include some NSFW images)”

The XF56mm f/1.2 is very hard to find in stock at the moment. But BestBuy has a limited number available here.

Two ways to fix the d-pad buttons on your Fujifilm X-T1

Share
[shoplink 24836 ebay] photo d-pad_zps322f0537.jpg[/shoplink]

When the Fujifilm X-T1 hit the market, back in February, the first batch of cameras had two problems: the light leak and the fiddly d-pad buttons. Fuji rapidly fixed the light leak, but not the buttons. To be clear: Fujifilm improved the buttons later on and now you have that nice “click” when you press them. But those who grabbed one of the first cameras on the market, are still struggling with the fiddly buttons.

Some of them looked for a home-made fix. Here are two fixes:

1) solte-uk2014: “Originally it was made for my first camera with really bad buttons on it, but that camera was replaced due to light leak and the 2nd camera has definitely better buttons, but I still decided to put this little thing on, and man it makes a different. I used double sided tape, I’ve been using it a quite a few weeks now and it stays in place.” See the product [shoplink 24836ebay]here on ebay[/shoplink]

2) Matt Brandon: “I was really tired of the back buttons on the X-T1. I was, but not anymore! After reading a tweet from a friend that used a self-setting rubber (Surgu) to mod his back buttons I thought I would give it a try.” Read “How I modified my X-T1 with Sugru here.
