Picktorial 3.0 Released, with Proprietary Fujifilm X-Trans RAW Support (compressed / uncompressed RAW’s)

Share

The developer of Picktorial contacted me, telling me that his ver.3 (MAC ONLY) is now available (which is basically completely new compared to previous versions), with some updates also for X-Trans users. From the press release:

The latest version also offers unique full support for the latest Fujifilm x-trans cameras RAW (including compressed/uncompressed RAF) and auto lens correction based on embedded metadata, an exciting development for Fuji photographers in particular.

He also wrote me:

Except from the quite rare Fuji support we have (no one but lightroom has our Fuji features), there are many exiting we are the first to turn OS X Photos into a non-destructive pro-level editor while recalling the positions of sliders and masks, allowing you to pick up where you left off even after closing Photos.
The first to offer a complete RAW workflow, from-camera-to-edit within a single window without slow switching between library and develop modules.
The first to implement Skin Smoothing utilizing Frequency Separation in a single brush with the ability to control the separation radius.
The first to offer true non-destructive local adjustments including all color adjustment tools (HSL\Curves\Split tone and more).
The first to introduce customizable Color and Luminosity Masks in local adjustments.
and so on..

If there is any X-shooter out there, who will test the software, then feel free to drop your findings in the comments down below. You can download the Picktorial software from their website here (free trial available at the website). They also have a youtube channel here.

one of my reason to buy GFX is because the sensor is bigger than 24×36 and it comes with nice EVF

There is a calmness to these GFX images that I find alluring. They were shot in natural light with the 32-64mm lens wide open at f/4. Part of the calmness comes because the camera is on a tripod and the stillness is a result of me using 1/30th second exposure. With my X-T2 I’m usually darting around working hand held or with it on a monopod. I now have a different approach when using the GFX and I love it.

Fujinon MK Cinema Lenses for X-mount to be Launched by the End of 2017

Fujifilm MK Cinema Lenses for X-Mount

Fujifilm just issued an official press release about the new Fujinon MK cinema lenses (the MK18-55mm F2.9 and MK50-130mm T2.9), where they say amongst the others, that the X-mount version of these two lenses will come only by the end of 2017.

X Mount versions of the MK lenses (with focal lengths of 18-55mm and 50-135mm) used in the FUJIFILM X Series line of digital cameras (with APS-C sensors) are being developed for launch by the end of this year.”

I remind you that Fujifilm is working on the ultimate APS-C camera, that should also bring some welcome improvements in the video compartment. This camera won’t be based on Sony’s FS5/FS7 (as I also speculated at the beginning), but the design will be based on the X-T series.

Just recently Fujifilm said that an issue with Iris Blades on Fujinon MK18-55mm T2.9 will cause some delivery delays.
