OK, so Fuji XT-2 is incredibly responsive and easy to use but what about the image quality? I am happy to report that the image quality in terms of resolution is a step forward over the XT-1 in that it delivers more detail. The dynamic range – though I have not had chance to test this back to back – seems to be better too.”

Capture One Pro 9: Download Now Completely Reworked and Improved Fujifilm Film Simulations Profiles (incl. ACROS)

Share

Capture One still does not officially offer Fuji Film Simulation profiles. But don’t worry, FXF member fleckintosh and Scottie Wang invested a lot of time (several weeks!) to create and optimize their own homebrew:

Here is a completely reworked, refined Set of ICC Profiles for Capture One, made for X-T1. It matches the In-Camera Filmsimulations much better than the original Set, which I posted last October here.

Another Set, made for X-Pro2, Incl. ACROS ICC Profiles, is also included in this post. I renamed them to have an alternative Option for my X-T1. These ICC are slightly different, Blacks & Shadows & Colors are more decent.”

Happy Download at the FXF here.

Fujifilm Patents 100mmF2… but for 1″ sensor camera ** POLL: Should Fuji Develop X-cameras With Sensor Smaller than APS-C?

Share

100mmF2

Fujifilm patents a 100mmF2 lens. If I deciphered correctly the google translated version, it will be a lens for a 1″ sensor camera (via egami):

Fujifilm patent application of “corresponding to 1.2 100Mm F2 is an optical system. 1.2” I will be 270mm by 35mm Leica conversion and use a little bit in a small 1 “sensor from.”

So what, is Fuji going to ditch the 2/3 sensor camera line and make the upgrade to 1″ sensors? I’ll try to get an answer on this. But, quite frankly, given how compact APS-C cameras can be ([shoplink 48584 ebay]see the Fujifilm X70[/shoplink], which is significantly smaller than the X30 and not really that much bigger than the XQ2), I’m not sure it really makes sense for Fujifilm to invest into cameras that feature a sensor that is smaller than APS-C.

But that’s just my own two cents. I’d be curious to see what you guys think about it, so here is a Poll

Should Fuji Develop X-cameras With Sensor Smaller than APS-C?

XF23mmF2 WR Hands On

Zed ProMedia could try out the new Fuji X-T2 at a Fuji event. At the same event, the Fuji Rep also brought the new XF23mmF2 WR, which, as I told you here, will come on August 25 along with the X-A3.

Here is his feedback about the XF23mmF2 WR:

  1. Focus Speed is as fast, if not faster than the XF35mmF2 WR
  2. AF-moter is super-quite
  3. Aperture Ring has about the same resitance of the one in the XF 35mmF2
  4. Focus Ring about double the thickness of the one in the XF35mmF2 WR – See This Leaked Real Life Image
  5. The XF23mmF2 WR is about half an inch (1,3 cm) longer than the XF35mmF2
