What a shock!

Coming home tired in the evening and suddenly discover that:

  • I have no more beer in the fridge!!!
  • an incredible rumor landed in my inbox

I’m desperately trying to find a beer “in stock” somewhere, but first I have to share with you this amazing rumor:

An anonymous source (with nick-name) kindly used the rumor box to send me this: the first image of the Fujifilm LH. The anonymous source (thanks) writes:

special edition for left handed (or left eye) photographers.
Tell you more when I know when delivered

I want to be 100% honest with you guys, so I must add that I’ve received this rumor back on March 5 via rumor box**. I really couldn’t wait to share it with all of you guys, but in order to keep my rumor accuracy high I had to triple check it.

Well, all the checkings are done now and the day to share it has finally come :-)

Fujifilm X-T2 Videos
USA: BHphoto / AmazonUS / Adorama

Since the launch of the X-T2 last year, we have all learned how good the 4K video on the X-T2 is. Now, I will not bore you again with cold video tests and comparisons. At this point it’s far more interesting to see what creative photographers and videographers can produce with it.

One of those photographers is Kjetil Kevin Madsen. He made a series of videos using a Fujifilm X-T2 with a Zheyun Crane and Blackmagic Video Assist.

He shared his experience and the videos in his blog post: “Shooting video with the Fujifilm X-T2, Zhiyun Crane and Blackmagic Video Assist” at kjetilkvienmadsen

TransIII Vs. Bayer

Fujifilm X-Trans III vs. Bayer (X-T2 with Fujinon 56mm f1.2 APD against the Sony A7II with Zeiss Batis 85mm f1.8) – Texture & Detail Comparison at thephotofundamentalist: “What I have personally concluded is that when a top quality 24MP Full-Frame sensor and the 24 MP APS-C X-Trans III are compared using vaguely comparable lenses, the results at low ISOs are very close indeed when using Adobe Lightroom CC.”

GFX Technologies #6 – The New Color Chrome Effect: Both a Goal, and a Beginning :: GFX Vs. Sony A7rII & More

Color Chrome Effect

The 6th episode of the GFX technologies series is now online. This time it’s about the new color chrome effect:

  • The development of Color Chrome Effect is derived from a reversal film: fortia. The film was introduced to the market in 2004 with the catchphrase “Higher contrast and more vivid color than Velvia
  • no matter what you do in Velvia mode, it will never turn into fortia
  • When expressing colors such as red, orange, yellow, or yellow green in high contrast, high brightness tends to exist. If contrast and brightness both reach their peaks, there is no room for tonality. As a result, the image becomes very flat. But by analyzing the light and information received on the sensor surface, one can detect slight gradation. Color Chrome Effect uses this to create tonality while maintaining high contrast. As a result, an image is achieved without losing its depth.
  • Side effect: processing power is required. Even the X-Processor Pro needs about 1.0 sec. to process the Color Chrome Effect. If you are single shot user, then this is not a problem. But you cannot shoot continuously or set it to AF-C mode.
