The Fujinon GF 23mm F4 R LM WR will be announced on April 19, 2017.

Just as rumored yesterday, on April 19 Fujifilm will also announce the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM.

To me this means just one thing: I have to recover good from my birthday party on April 17, since on April 19 I want to be fit for the Live Blogging here on FujiRumors :).

And in case you missed it, I am selling a “FujiRumors” personalized wooden hand grip (for X-T1), a “FujiRumors” hot shoe cover and also a leather strap here. The value is of $110, and currently the highest bet is of $155. 100% of the money goes to charity to support free education in Cambodia at KNGO, the NGO we collected $3,500 last year with the sale of the fair trade recycled X-shirts.

Oh, right, also the new Instax Square cameras, the Instax Square SQ and Instax Square SQ10 will be announced on April 19. The Instax Square SQ10 will be a hybrid digital/film camera. All details here.

Fujifilm GFX 50s Novoflex Adapter

Credit goes to fellow Fujifilm GFX member Martin, who shared at the group here the news:

Two hours ago, Novoflex announced that they are working on an adpater for Fujifilm GFX 50s. The news has been shared at their official facebook page here.

Somebody said in the comments to the Novoflex facebook post: “Great!!!! I want use the Balpro on the GFX” and Novoflex answered in German “dauert nicht mehr lange” (it won’t take long anymore).

FujiRumors Birthday Charity Auction: I Sell X-T1 Grip & Leather Strap to Support Free Education in Cambodia

The Charity Idea

 

I decided to launch an auction so you can win:

I thought it’s much better to donate the money of the auction to KNGO, an NGO that gives access to free education to Cambodian kids and we collected money for here on FR in the past, by selling fair trade T-shirts made by Tonlé and donating all the earnings ($3,500) to KNGO. More details below and also here.

The Auction

All items listed for sale are brand new and never used. I just took them out of the box to take the pictures, and then put them right back into the box. The regular price for wooden hand grip (for Fujifilm X-T1) + leather wrist strap and hot shoe cover is of $110, and this is also where our auctions starts from.

You can join the auction as a guest (so you do NOT need to register), but if you already have an account on FujiRumors, you must log in to your existing account here first (if you have any problems to log-in, just contact me at fujirumor@gmail.com)

Here is what will happen, if you win the auction:

  1. You will get an email with the link to the KNGO paypal account
  2. Pay KNGO the equivalent amount of money you won the auction with
  3. Contact me at fujirumor@gmail.com and send me your mailing adress
  4. KNGO will contact me as soon as the payment has been done and the money arrived to their account
  5. As soon as KNGO gets the money and I’m notified by them, I will ship the wooden “FujiRumors” hand grip for X-T1, the leather strap and the wooden “FujiRumors” hot shoe cover to you (I’ll pay for the worldwide shipping)

The Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM will be announced on April 19. Just two days after my birthday :) .

Earlier this year, the estimated price of the 3 remaining GF lenses, including the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM, surfaced on the web. I reported about it already in the past here, but here is the rumored price again:

  • GF23mmF4 = $2599
  • GF45mmF2.8 = $1699
  • GF110mmF2 = $2799

Please take them with a grain of salt, not only because they could be wrong, but also because the price leaked a few months ago… enough time for Fujifilm to change the price tag.

My personal guess though, is that you should not be surprised if the GF110mm costs more than $2,800.

Along with the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM, Fujifilm should also announce the new Instax Square cameras, the already leaked Instax Square SQ and Instax Square SQ10.

The Instax Square SQ10 will be a hybrid digital/film camera. All details here.

DPReview Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Pentax 645Z vs Hasselblad X1D Comparison

DPReivew just published their full comparison between the Fujifilm GFX 50s, Pentax 645z and Hasselblad X1D.

“For a start, a good-looking JPEG can be used as a proof for a client almost as soon as you shoot the image.

Clearly this puts the Pentax and Fujifilm at an advantage, since these companies have more experience of delivering customer-friendly JPEGs. However, the GFX benefits further, not only gaining the results of Fujifilm’s well respected color response in JPEG, but also in that some of that color knowledge has been shared with Adobe, meaning that Film Simulation-simulating profiles are available in Lightroom and Camera Raw, to provide an attractive starting point for processing.

Ultimately, the nearer you can get to your preferred output at the start of the process, the less post-processing you need to do; saving time and money on every image.

[…] Overall, of course, these are exotic pieces of kit. Expensive and, despite the mass-market roots of the Pentax and Fujifilm’s interfaces, still more complex to shoot with than the full frame cameras that are probably the more sensible choice for most mortals, given the price, image quality and performance offered. That said, there’s something special about shooting with such daunting machines, and something that’s likely to immediately impress most would-be clients.”
