Godox Roundup

The Godox system is quickly becoming the favorite flash system amongst Fujifilm X and GFX shooters. And that’s not really a surprise. Very affordable, performs very well, gets lots of firmware updates and it’s just great value for money.

And given the growing popularity of the Godox system, here on Fujirumors we are happy to report regulary about it. Just search for “Godox” on FujiRumors, to get quick access to all previous Godox articles.

Today we have another Godox Roundup for you.

Godox Hack

Markus Klinko wrote me:

Last week I came up with an awesome hack for anyone who does not want to wait another 8-12 weeks for the X Pro F:

In fact, the Godox X Pro C, available immediately, works perfectly with Fujifilm cameras, as long as one has a Godox X1T-F in the hot shoe, turned on, but all groups in OFF mode. All adjustments can be made on the X Pro, which is much nicer to use than the X1T.

In this configuration, the flashes also recognize when to go into HSS or normal flash mode automatically, since the X1T-F, despite being passive, is still forcing the camera in FP mode.

I shot the attached image last week in Rome, with an XT2, iso 200, 1/8000, f 5.6 with the X Pro as my active controller, as described above.

The added advantage of the dual controller set up is that is allows to very quickly switch between HSS and Hyper Sync. All that needs to be done to enable Hyper Sync,
is to select a different channel on the X1T from the channel set on the X Pro and the flashes.
