Fujinon 14-26mmF5-7 and 12-26mmF5-6.8 APS-C Lens Patents Spotted

Share

Compact, affordable and wide lenses designed mainly for video use are a popular option at other brands:

And taking a look at the latest patents surfaced on the web, it seems that Fujifilm is investigating this possibility too, as reported by the Japanese website asobinet.

The patents are:

  • Fujifilm 14-26mmF5-7
  • Fujinon 12-26mmF5-6.8

Asobinet speculates that these could be patents for low-priced, small and lightweight lenses for video and powezooms like the XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ.

Anyway, these are just patents, and out of hundreds of patents I have shared in over a decade here on FujiRumors, I think I remember only one become reality before it was announced.

A more more reliable indication on what Fujifilm is working on is given to us by Fujifilm directly, when they made a list of 10 potential lenses, one of them has already been released and the other one is coming in not too distant future, too.

So there are 8 more lenses that could come and you can vote on in the survey linked in the article below.
