Cinema5D had the opportunity to interview Fujifilm Top Manager Toshihisa Iida (who is also a FujiRumors Lover, as you can see here) :)

It’s of course a more video-centric interview, also focussing on the recently released Fujinon MK lenses. But they also talk about the GFX, X-T20 and X-T2. Here some excerpts:

  • MK lenses not designed to support EF-mount. Fuji wants to make the lens as small as possible. Hence only X and E-mount (small flange distance)
  • Fuji has best glass and best IQ. So Fujifilm has a lot of potential for video market, using the great glass and IQ.
  • Q: Will you continue to support and explore new was to reach higher quality when it comes to the camera side? A: I’m very postive or optimistic with our future R&D development
  • GFX focus in on still photography. This does not necessarly mean we limit GFX to stills. It has big potential for future also for videos

Fujifilm said that the X-mount versions of theĀ MK18-55mm T2.9 and MK50-130mm T2.9 will come in late 2017.
