RUMOR: Upcoming Fuji Flash made with METZ… and some more specs! (anonymous source)

 photo asd_zps6f84ebaf.jpg

the Fujifilm EF-42 is one of the Fuji flashes available at the market. More flash units are needed…. a new flash could come in spring 2015

_ _ _

An anonymous source with nick-name (thanks) just shared with us the following information: The new (still just rumored) flash for the Fuji X System will be made with METZ. The features? Guide number 52, off shoe TTL, ABC grouping and to be announced at the CP+ in Japan (February).

This rumor confirms (partially) what shared earlier about this flash. In fact, previous rumors talked about wireless control, but the guide number was said to be 50. And as you might remember, a trusted source told us that it will be released in spring 2015. Another reminder: it is said to have HSS capability.

The anonymous source also confirms what Fujifilm told us back on the 24th of July: the XF90mm and the XF140-400 will be released at the end of 2015. It also said that the X-PRO2 would feature an 24MP sensor.

Message to sources: you can contact Fujirumors 100% anonymously via rumor box (maybe using a nick name so that I can eventually recognize you in future) or via email at fujirumor [at] gmail.com. Feel free to make my X-PRO2 rumor sleuthing a bit easier ;)

Fujifilm to launch a new PRO-photographer service in 2015 like Nikon’s/Canon’s NPS/CPS! (anonymous source)

 photo pic_01_zps60481423.jpg

[UPDATE: Just now Rick Lewis said in the comments: “Patrick, I think I can confirm this (100%). I spoke with a Fuji USA service tech last month about a fix for the X-T1 D-pad issue and he said no fix yet but the good news is a Fujifilm Pro Services department in 2015. He said it was coming, not maybe it was coming. I actually made him say it twice! :-) Very good news!!”]

According to an anonymous source with nick-name (thanks), Fuji will launch a new PRO-photographer service next year. The service will be like Nikon’s/Canon’s NPS/CPS (they offer 24/7 phone and e-mail support, expedited and discounted equipment maintenance and repairs, Equipment Evaluation Loans, on-site support at select events and shows, discounts on seminars and workshops, and more).

That would be definitely a great news (if true) for those who ditched their DSLR’s to make all their PRO work with the Fuji System. Just let’s cross fingers that the rumor is correct. But for now, the grain of salt is mandatory.

btw, I’d call the service XPS (for eXpress service)… just a suggestion, Fuji… it’s for free ;)

You’re great guys, Keep up sharing rumors !

ORGANIC SENSOR: The Problem? Too much battery drain and too much heat being generated (new sources)

 photo organic_zpsbb775cc2.jpg

The organic sensor isn’t just a futuristic patent popped out somewhere on the web. In fact it’s Fujifilm itself, that officially announced its development. The official press release says that, together with Panasonic, Fujifilm is working on an organic sensor that will deliver “Industry’s highest dynamic range”.

But what is the situation now? Well, according to 2 new sources the problems are the following:

New source 1) too much battery drain & problems to find a proper processor
New source 2) too much heat being generated

Could these problems be the reason for the Fujifilm X-PRO2 delay? Will it feature an organic sensor once these issues are sorted out? Is this the sensor Fuji is waiting to be ready before launching its new flagship (see this rumor)?

I don’t know it… and I still have NO (!) reliable or even semi-reliable information about a Fujifilm X-PRO2 sporting an organic sensor. However, this weekend I’ve received an anonymous rumor pointing into this direction, but I’d like to hear what trusted sources say about it before sharing more details.

If there is anyone out there who could help to dissipate the doubts and share some more information about the sensor of the Fujifilm X-PRO2, then feel free to contact me 100% anonymously via rumor box (using a nick-name, so that I can eventually recognize you in future) or also via email at fujirumor [at] gmail [dot] com (you can create a fake email address if you prefer).

RUMOR: Fuji’s will drop entry level X line and step into the Action Cameras segment + NEW Patent (actioncamerarumors)

 photo action_zps912b9422.png

According to actioncamerarumors here, Fujifilm decided to get rid of the non-profitable entry-level X MILC segment in order to free up resources to put into the flourishing action camera market (GoPro & Co). Actioncamerarumors says:

The Swing-cam presented at Photokina could be seen as a first foray into the action camera domain.”

If true, the next Fuji X entry-level camera (rumored to come early 2015) could also be Fuji’s last one!

Actioncamerarumros also spotted an interesting Fujifilm patent about an optical system that can shoot a telephoto and wide-angle image at the same time. It could be used in a surveillance camera as well as in an action camera.

Read the whole rumor & check out the patent here at actioncamerarumors.

Fujifilm X-PRO2 will feature a dual SD card slot. Release second quarter 2015 (New Source)

 photo p2_zps35b22e00.jpg

According to a new source (so take it with a grain of salt), the Fujifilm X-PRO2 will feature a dual SD card slot. The source also said the the release should be at the 2nd quarter 2015 (so from April to June).

I hear very different release dates (from very early 2015 to late 2015), so one more reason not to take this rumor as a fact. I hope to be able to update you soon via trusted sources… and in case there is somebody out there willing to share some more details, you know how to contact me.

Time to update the rumored specs list again.
