I’ve received an email from a new source who shared with me an interesting rumor. According to the source the X-PRO1 will be replaced in a few months. The camera will have a newer viewfinder and a Dual Processor chip. I have been told the new Dual Processor eradicates jerkiness and lag in the EVF. And it of course makes the image processing even faster.

Reminder: A Nippon magazine rumored the X-PRO2 for June, the X-E2 for September and an X-M1 for this month (read here). But the source we have could not confirm this release period now. Hope I can tell you more soon. So stay tuned!

While we are still waiting to get some news about the future X cameras we may soon get new X-mount lenses! Not from Fuji…from Zeiss! Some sources confirmed that Zeiss will announce three new X-mount primes in early April. Those are the 12mm f/2.8, 32mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/2.8. All priced at around 1.000 Euro and all with electronic Aperture and Autofocus control.

Two of the lenses may a bit too close to current Fuji offerings. The 12mm f/2.8 Zeiss will be a tiny bit wider but also more expensive than our Fuji 14mm f/2.8 (Price check at [shopcountry 6152]). And the 32mm f/1.8 will be slower and more expensive than the already very good Fuji 35mm f/1.4 (Price check at [shopcountry 386]). At the end the 50mm f/2.8 is likely the most unique lens within the X range.

ePhotozine (Click here) published the new Fuji X lens roadmap displayed the the Focus On Imaging show in Birmingham (UK). You see the release info for the XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8R LM OIS lens, the 23mm f/1.4R, the 56mm f/1.4R, the 27mm f/2.8, and the 10-24mm f/4R OIS lens. All to come within 2013!

And here are the full XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8R LM OIS lens specs. The lens will be released in May!

This is a looong expected rumor!

A trusted source told me that on Monday Adobe should release Lightroom 4.4 RC with better support for X-TRANS RAF-files! Let’s hope that Adobe finally unlocked the potential of the X-Trans-files.

Nippon Magazine published their guess about the new cameras to come in 2013. And talking about Fuji this is what they say:

1) new X-M1 may come in April (this should be an entry level X camera
2) X-PRO 2 with new viewfinder in June
3) X-E2 in September.

Let’s hope they are right about all of them! Or would you wish something else? :)
