Fujifilm FF250002 Registration Surfaced… and I Think We Know What it is!

Yet another Fujifilm registration has surfaced on the web and has been shared by E8M at the Chinese social media platform Weibo here.

This time the camera comes with the code name FF250002.

We now have a total of three unreleased camera registered.

I guess the FF250001 is the Fujifilm X-E5, since that registration is the oldest one (spotted already months ago) and hence the most likely to come next. And we know the Fujifilm X-E5 will come on June 12.

The single band wireless of the FF250003 suggest that this is a lower end model.

The FF250002 could be pretty much anything. But before you rejoice for the arrival of the Fujifilm X-T6, Fujifilm X-Pro4, Fujifilm X-H3, Fujifilm X-H3S, Fujifilm X-S30 and what not, keep in mid that there is one camera we know for sure will come in 2025, and it’s the Fujifilm GFX Eterna (which is already listed at B&H Photo).

So it seems likely that the Fujifilm GFX Eterna could be the camera hidden behind this registration, but of course all options are always on the table, until gear has not been officially announced.

Fujinon XF23mm Pancake Coming with Fujifilm X-E5 on June 12.. and That’s a Problem!

So, Fujifilm has just announced the next Fujifilm X Summit on June 12.

FujiRumors readers know already know that on that day the Fujifilm X-E5 will be announced.

But according to our trusted sources, that’s not all.

In fact, also the Fujinon XF23mm pancake lens will be launched along with the Fujifilm X-E5 on June 12.

And I tell you why this might be a problem.

Remember when back in 2021 Fujifilm launched the Fujifilm X-E4 along with the Fujinon XF27mmF2.8 R WR?

Do you remember what happened?

Well, there was a X-E4 with XF27mmF2.8 II bundle option, and many people grabbed the kit because you saved $200 on the lens, as we reported here.

Although, if you bought the lens alone, you also got the LH-XF27 and the LHCP-27 included in the price, whereas with the bundle there was the lens only without LH-XF27 and LHCP-27. And yet getting the bundle was a fantastic deal, as purchasing them separately costs only a few bucks.

Ultimately many went for the bundle. And this meant that the lens only was very hard to find in stock, so much so that the Fujinon XF27mmF2.8 R WR will go down as the one lens in Fujifilm’s history that had the worst shipping ever, with stock being rather stable only now in 2025 (for a lens announced in 2021).

So, the combination of Fujifilm’s limited production capabilities with the fact that lots of lenses were reserved for the X-E4 bundle, made the lens impossible to find in stock for years.

Well, if Fujifilm decides to offer a bundle again this time, hence a Fujifilm X-E5 with XF23mm pancake kit, I am afraid we will experience the same mess had with the XF27mmF2.8 R WR, also considering that not only the Fujifilm X-E5 will sell like hot cakes (trust me!), but also because the Fujinon XF23mm is by far the most awaited lens in the Fujifilm community, as multiple survey has shown.

And if the lens comes with a hefty bundle discount as it was the case for the XF27mmF2.8 R WR, then those who want the lens only might have huge problems to get one.

SG-image AF 25mm f/1.8 Coming Tomorrow

The long teased SG-image AF 25mm f/1.8 will be launched tomorrow according to mirrorlessurmors.

It will be SG-image’s second AF lens for Fujfilm X mount after the SG-image AF 55mm f/1.8.

Is the Fujifilm X half Made by Canon (Sort of…) ?

FR-reader Mistral contacted me and passed me an interesting tidbit of information shared on Chinese social media Weibo by 独立摄影师联合会 and 相机笔记et

Apparently the Fujifilm X half is manufactured by ‘Canon’.

To be more specific, it is made by Dongguan Nengshuai Technology Co., Ltd., which is based in Dongguan City – Guangdong Province, China.

This company is wholly owned by 佳能股份有限公司, the Chinese name of Canon.

However, this ‘Canon‘ is not the one we know. In fact, its English name is Ability Enterprise Co., Ltd. It’s a Taiwanese company that was originally Canon’s sales agent in Taiwan. It is controlled by Pegatron, a contract manufacturer that split off from Asus in 2010 and is best known for producing 10% of iPhones.

So, that’s (maybe) the story behind the Fujifilm X half manufacturing.

Now, it is not the first time that Fujifilm outsources parts of R&D and/or manufacturing to other companies. For example for the most part, the entry level Fujifilm cameras were made by the Xacti Corporation, who still makes lots of cheap cameras and accessories. This cooperation has ended with the Fujifilm X-T200 and now Fujifilm makes the X-M5 again in its own factories.

It’s interesting to see that Fujifilm is once again outsourcing the manufacturing of its X series cameras (if the reports are accurate).

That said, while the X-Half technically belongs to the X series lineup, I see it more as a bridge between the Instax and X series. It’s a fun and approachable option for current X series users, while also serving as an appealing step-up for Instax users—offering the same simplicity and playful experience, but with enhanced image quality and expanded creative controls.
