Fujifilm X-T1 Firmware Update 5.51 Released – Restores Fujinon XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Compatibility

Fujifilm has just released Fujifilm X-T1 firmware update ver. 5.51, which restores compatibility with the Fujinon XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 muffin zoom lens.

  1. Compatibility with XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ which has become incompatible on ver.5.50 is added
    And the functions below which have become compatible on ver.5.50 can be used.
    (1) Compatibility with the functions below of XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR is added.
    · Focus Preset Function
    · Focus Control button
    (2) Compatibility with the functions below of XF1.4X TC F2 WR (bundled with XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR) is added.
    Applicable lenses : XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro, XF200mmF2 R LM OIS WR,
    XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR, XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR
    *Upgrade the firmware of a camera before upgrading the firmware of a lens.

Fujifilm Manager says Fujifilm GFX 50R went Through 10 Different Designs and Fuji GFX50R for Travels

MANAGER INTERVIEW: Fujifilm manager Makoto Oishi said to thephoblographer (video above), that the Fujifilm GFX 50R went through at least 10 different designs.

One idea was to put the hybrid viewfinder into thr Fujufilm GFX50R, but it would have made the Fujifilm GFX50R bigger and heavier as well as parallax issues due to large G-mount.

Fujifilm still struggled with the size, though, especially because of the shutter mechanism and the battery.

So, week after week, they re-designed and re-developed the Fujifilm GFX50R in order to reduce the size.

At the end, they made at least 10 different designs and plastic models, until they reached the desired size.

ON THE FIELD WITH GFX 50R: William Chua brought the Fujifilm GFX50R in western Mongolia. The result is a series of wonderful images, you can check out at williamchua here.

“Of course the camera would work great in other kind of photography as well, studio, landcapes etc.. but I think it works best out in the streets, and for general travel photography. Probably not the best for fast action things though. […] Its very addictive to shoot with this camera.“

Sainsonic Kamlan 50mmF1.1 MK II and 21mmF1.8 for FUJIFILM X Announced

Sainsonic has just announced two new Kamlan lenses for Fujifilm X Mount:

  • 50mm f/1.1 MK II
  • 21mm f/1.8

The Kamlan 21mm f/1.8 is now shipping at Adorama and AmazonUS (via Adorama)

Fujifilm X-T3 Bug Fix Firmware 1.02 Released

Fujifilm just released Fujifilm X-T3 firmware ver. 1.02. It fixed the following bug:

  • Fix of symptom that the buttons cannot be used in histogram or sports finder modes
  • Fix of symptom that RAW image cannot be recorded normally
  • Fix of slight defects

You can download Fuji X-T3 firmware 1.02 at this link.

Fujifilm did promise another firmware update within 2018, that will bring hybrid log gamma to Fujifilm X-T3.

However, it was my pleasure to leak what Fujifilm did not tell you: also exFAT file format will come to Fujifilm X-T3, which removes the 4GB file size limit.
