Price increase for the X-E1 kit through third part reseller at AmazonUS

Hi

As you can see from the image in the post of yesterday, the first X-E1 kits in stock at AmazonUS where through third part reseller for a normal price. Now the price has changed, and there is a price rise of $300! So the new price is $1600 (click here) for the kit. We still have to wait that Amazon fills preorders to see the X-E1 kit in stock directly at AmazonUS. So preorder or wait for the kit to be in stock to save $200 (check availability here).

[UPDATE] A new review and in stock status check [X-E1 kits available]

Trustedreviews published the full X-E1 review. But there is also a good news to report. For a short time the X-E1 kit was marked as in Stock too! Right now, X-E1 kits are available through third part reseller at AmazonUS (silver and black version) [BUT BE AWARE THAT THIS KIT COSTS $300 MORE THAN NORMAL. THE RESELLER WILLOUGHBY’S RAISED THE PRICE FOR $300 THE DAY AFTER THIS POST]. Four kits are also available for sale on eBay (via Slidoo).

Something cool for your X: Think Tank Retrospective 5 bag review

Now that the fist examples of the new stylish X-E1 are finally available (click here to check availability on ebay) and AmazonUS is shipping this camera (see image at the end of this post), maybe it’s time to purchase also a cool place where to put this camera. So I decided to link you to this review (click here) about this stylish bag (click here). Perfect for CSC with 2-4 lenses, lot of pockets, rain cover, lifetime warranty… but beware, according to the reviewer there is a big CONS: it’s so beautiful, that his wife tries to steal it for her own micro four thirds system!

X-E1 bug found

In short: A Fujirumors follower wrote me an email. He says that: “When shooting in JPG you have the option of choosing the picture format just as with the XPRO1, 3-2 equals 4896×3264.  This is the same if you choose Raw+Fine also, and it works properly with the generated RAW file being 4896×3264. BUT If you choose RAW only, the format changes to RAW and the file size locks at 4896×2760!  The XPRO1 if set the same way is 4896×3264!  There seems to be NO way to change this. This has been very frustrating.”

There is also a dpreview post about it here.

PS.: Another feedback on the X-E1: Alexander startet this blog, fujifilm-x-opinions, because he now owns a X-E1, and although it’s a good camera, there are some irritating quirks that he would like Fuji to improve with updates in future. above all the focus in backlit situations. The AF of camera really struggles with backlight situations. “I have used a Panasonic GF1, G5 and a Sony NEX-7. These cameras all don’t offer lightning fast AF. But I had never experienced that they almost completely refused to focus like the Fujifilm X-E1.

And thanks James for sharing this information with us.
