Fuji released the new firmware update Ver.1.11 for the X PRO 1 (download here). It adds the support for the new M mount adapter: “When FUJIFILM M-mount adapter is set to the camera body and the correction menu of “COLOR SHADING CORRECTION” or “PERIPHERAL ILLUMINATION CORRECTION” for the mount adapter is operated, corrected live image can be displayed on EVF/LCD for setting appropriate value with ease.”

Still no upgrade on critical needed points liek the AF speed. Hope that is coming as next!

Fujifilm Announces Roadmap For New XF Lenses For The X-Pro1 Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera System

Valhalla, N.Y., June 25, 2012 (EMBARGO UNTIL 10:00 PM ET) – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced plans to offer an expanded selection of FUJINON XF lenses for the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera System that will offer a wide range of new shooting opportunities for professional and advanced photographers. From super wide single length focus to telephoto lenses, users will now be able to freely choose which XF lenses match their shooting style, and allow them to experience the extraordinary image quality of the FUJIFILM X-Pro1 in a variety of new ways.

Fall 2012
Beginning in the fall of 2012, Fujifilm will introduce two new bright and fast aperture prime FUJINON XF lenses: the XF14mm (21mm) F2.8 single focal length lens and the XF18mm-55mm (27-84mm) F2.8-F4 lens.

Each of the new XF lenses are designed to deliver sharp, clear images of unmatched quality with precise aperture control, and beautiful bokeh effects thanks to the design of the molded aperture diaphragm blades. The blades are curved to create a circular image at all aperture settings, while the very edges of each blade are meticulously rounded off rather than cut off, to deliver more pleasing images.

Early 2013
Then in early 2013, Fujifilm will also deliver three more high performance single focal length lenses that include the XF56mm (84mm) F1.4 lens, the pancake XF27mm (41mm) F2.8 lens and the XF23mm (35mm) F1.4 lens.

Middle 2013
Then in middle 2013, Fujifilm will launch a telephoto XF55mm-200mm (83-300mm) F3.5-F4.8 lens and the super wide zoom XF10mm-24mm (15-36mm) F4 lens, both with optical image stabilization.

Fuji (Click here) released the new X PRO 1 firmware updated. It brings the following nw features/fixes:

• New function for “FUJIFILM M mount adapter” is added to the shooting menu.
• 2.The MENU name “FOCAL LENGTH SETTING” is changed into “MOUNT ADAPTER SETTING”, and new correction menu is added.
  DISTORTION CORRECTION,
  COLOR SHADING CORRECTION
  PERIPHERAL ILLUMINATION CORRECTION
• 3.Even if “LENS 5” or “LENS 6” (adjustable focal length) is set, the Bright Frame can be displayed on OVF in accordance with focal length.
  (Recommended lens focal length for OVF to check the Bright Frame: from 18mm to 60mm)
• 4.In MF (manual focus) mode, sharpness of live image at 10x magnified operation (by pressing the command dial) is set to high and focusing point can be much easily confirmed.
• 5.When FUJIFILM M mount adapter is connected to the camera body, the following issues are effective.
  • (1)By pressing the function button of M mount adapter”, “MOUNT ADAPTER SETTING” menu is displayed quickly.
  • (2)”SHOOT WITHOUT LENS” is automatically set to “ON”
  • (3)”Distance indicator (Manual focus indicator)” in “Standard display” mode on EVF/OVF is automatically set to “OFF”
  • (4)3 types of correction menu (DISTORTION / COLOR SHADING / PERIPHERAL ILLUMINATION) are activated.

Finally Adobe released ACR v7.1 and Lightroom v4.1 that adds support for the X PRO 1.  Diglloyd posted a first test using the new Adobe RAW converter. Let me know if you find more tests with the new Adobe RAW converter! I am curious to see if Adobe managed to get out more from the X RAW files than other RAW programs!

UDPATE: Soundimagesplus posted a full Adobe converter test: “ACR is obviously a much more responsive and flexible programme, but it does seem that the unique nature of the sensor means that some of my normal techniques may not work so well. Interestingly, I have a preset saved that defaults to the parameters in the previous version of the Camera Raw plug-in, and I felt that I got slightly better results.“
