Definitely in line in terms of looks and feel with the lovely Voigtländer ULTRON 27mm F2.

Usually the first to get new Voigtländer lenses for shipping is Voigtlander USA Distributor CameraQuest, which should list this lens for sale soon at their Amazon Storefront page.

There is already a first look with sample images available at fujifanboys here.

Fujinon XF 18-55mmF2.8-4 Declared Among All Time Best Kit Lenses… and Yet it Gets Replaced Soon

Chris and Jordan made a list of the best 5 kit lenses of all time. In the list we find:

I was a very happy owner of the Fujinon XF18-55mmF2.8.4 myself. It was the lens that took one of my all time favorite images.

The only reason I don’t own it anymore (and I sold it along with my XF55-200mm), is that I got this XF lens that replaced them both.

But I totally agree: the XF18-55mmF2.8-4 is one of the best kit lenses we have ever seen.

However, despite being still an awesome lens, it is going to be replaced by the Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8, as we first told you from a beautiful mountain peak in the Dolomites.

In fact, we have also leaked the images already as well as additional (highly welcome) specs.

Check out below the rumors regarding the Fujinon XF16-50mm f/2.8-4.8.

Look Fujifilm: the X-T5 Actually Sells Well Now that Orders are Open Again in Japan

Did you notice Fujifilm?

People actually buy your cameras, if you allow us to buy them :).

Now, sorry for this rather polemical intro, but Fujifilm deserves it a little bit.

In fact, for about 1 year, the Fujifilm X-T5 was not really available for order in Japan.

But just last months, on December 15 (1+ year after announcement), Fujifilm resumed sales for X-T5 in Japan.

And guess what happened?

In just 15 days the X-T5 jumped on the 6th spot of the Mapcamera ranking (one of the largest stores in Japan).

  1. α7C II
  2. Z f
  3. GR IIIx
  4. Z 8
  5. EOS R6 Mark II

“Forgotten Negative” Film Simulation Recipe

Forgotten Negative

As I am writing this, I am on a bus ride back home.

Just to pass some time, I decided to scroll through the images shared at our Fujifilm Film Simulation group.

During my scoling, I stumbled on a post by Timothy (Instagram), who shared some lovely images taken with his own film simulation recipe that he calls “Forgotten Negative“.

You can find sample images in the posts below.

I love the look of the sample images and I thought it’s something you might want to try out.

In fact, I am programming it now also on my Fujifilm X-T5 while sitting in the bus and I have taken my first Forgotten Negative image just from the bus window. Can’t wait to try it out more in the next days.

Fujinon XF27mmF2.8 R WR and XF70-300mmF4-5.6 Back in Stock – 3 Years After Announcement

The Fujinon XF27mmF2.8 R WR and Fujinon XF70-300mmF4-5.6 were both announced in January 2021.

Well, for the past three years, both lenses where rarely in stock! Last time I noticed them in stock was back in May 2023.

But good news:

Both lenses are now back in stock at BHphoto here. And in case of the XF27mmF2.8 R WR, it’s in stock also at Amazon here.

At all other stores listed below both lenses are still backordered.

I love my XF27mmF2.8 R WR. In fact it was the only lens (mounted on my X-E3) that I took with me on my last hike (you can see the video here plus a few images I took).

I don’t own the XF70-300mm myself, but from people who own it I also just hear great things about it.

For both lenses, customer reviews are stellar:
