From Fujifilm UK:

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) is proud to announce that a new “FUJINON XF 35mm f/2 R WR” lens will be added to its premium mirrorless “X-Series” interchangeable lens camera line-up in November 2015. The new 35mm lens offers a focal length equivalent to 53mm, its angle of view is similar to that of the human eye, and it has a maximum aperture of f/2.0

The “FUJINON XF 35mm f/2 R WR” is a standard focal length prime lens which delivers sharp images with rich bokeh. The optical construction of 9 elements in 6 groups (including two aspherical elements) achieves the perfect balance of high image quality and compact size. The lightweight is weather and dust-resistant and can work in temperatures as low as -10°C. The XF 35mm f/2.0 features the smallest diameter in the XF lens line-up and thanks to the inner focus system and stepping motor, it achieves an autofocus time of just 0.08 sec.

This lens is very versatile and can be used for a wide variety of scenes and applications.

1. Sharp, rich image quality

Lens construction of 9 elements in 6 groups delivers sharp, high-quality images, even at the widest aperture of f/2.0.

2.  Compact and discrete

Two aspherical lenses are used to ensure a small and compact exterior. At just 45.9mm in length and with a diameter of 60mm, the slim and stylish design allows comfortable operation and draws minimum attention to the photographer, making it the perfect lens for portrait, street or reportage photography.

3. Fastest autofocus speed of 0.08 sec

An inner focusing system, which moves the small and lightweight lens elements, is combined with a stepping motor to produce quiet, accurate and fast autofocus – a must for all snap shooters that need to capture a spontaneous moment.

4. All metal exterior, weather and dust-resistant and -10°C low-temperature operation

The all-metal construction of the lens exterior ensures it is durable enough for a wide variety of shooting situations. The fine texture of the metal parts further enhance the shooting experience and ensure it can be operated easily and accurately with wet or gloved hands. The lens features a weather- and dust-resistant structure with eight seals on the lens barrel keeping the lens protected from rain, dust and splashes of water when shooting outdoors. It can also work in temperatures as low as -10℃.

5. Two types of lens hood

Lens hoods block unnecessary light from entering the lens to maximise optical performance. There are two types of lens hood available for the XF35mmF2 R WR. A lightweight and compact circular lens hood is included with it and a classical and stylish metal hood LH-XF35-2 is available for purchase as an optional accessory. Both lens hoods allow the front lens cap to be used while attached.

Fujifilm will add two high performance weather resistant Fujinon accessories to its X Series interchangeable lens line-up.

Fujifilm has added a new teleconverter to its premium mirrorless camera “X-Series” interchangeable lens lineup that’s capable of multiplying the focal length of compatible lenses by 1.4x.

The FUJINON Teleconverter XF1.4X TC WR increases the aperture of the lens it is mounted to by one f-stop but still maintains the optical performance of the original lens thanks to its optical design constructed of 7 elements in 3 groups. The new teleconverter is also weather and dust-resistant and operates at temperatures as low as -10°C meaning it can be used with the weather and dust-resistant X-T1 camera body and XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR lens.

Those with X-T1 cameras and the XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR lens will have to download a firmware update which will be available on 29 October 2015 make them compatible with the new teleconverter.

The Suggested Retail Price for the teleconverter is £329.00 and it will be on sale in the UK from mid-November 2015.

Main Specifications:

  • Type – FUJINON LENS XF1.4X TC WR
  • Lens construction – 7 elements 3 groups
  • Focal length – 1.4x that of original lens
  • Max. aperture – 1 additional stop
  • Min. aperture – 1 additional stop

  • Max. magnification – 1.4x that of original lens
  • External dimensions: Diameter x Length (distance from camera lens mount flange) – Approx. Φ58mm x 15mm
  • Weight (excluding lens caps) – Approx.130g

Also announced today was the FUJINON XF 35mm f/2 R WR lens with a weather-resistant body and fast autofocus speeds.

From FujiFilm UK:

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) is proud to announce that a new “FUJINON TELECONVERTER XF1.4X TC WR”, will be added to its premium mirrorless camera “X-Series” interchangeable lens line-up in November 2015.

The “FUJINON TELECONVERTER XF1.4X TC WR” is a high-performance teleconverter capable of multiplying the focal length of compatible lenses*1 by 1.4x. When mounted, the teleconverter increases the lens’ aperture by one f-stop, however its sophisticated optical design constructed of 7 elements in 3 groups maintains the optical performance of the original lens. Additionally, thanks to the unified design when mounted to a compatible lens*1, the teleconverter is weather and dust-resistant and operates at temperatures as low as -10°C. This ensures it can be used with confidence outdoors with the weather and dust-resistant X-T1 camera body and XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR lens.

1.High image quality design which maintains the optical performance of the original lens

  • The teleconverter’s construction of 7 elements in 3 groups maintains the optical performance of the original lens
  • By using the optimum image quality parameters for the overall characteristics of the original lens and 1.4x teleconverter, an excellent imaging performance with great aberration suppression can be achieved even when the focal length is multiplied by 1.4x.
  • The camera displays and records information reflecting the change in aperture and focal length when the teleconverter is mounted.

2. The camera’s autofocus performance is unaffected by the addition of the teleconverter

  • An AF speed equivalent to that of the lens by itself is still achieved when the teleconverter is mounted.
  • Thanks to mirrorless cameras’ “Live View” Contrast Detection autofocus, shooting at minimum aperture values is still possible despite the f-stop being increased by mounting the teleconverter. Also, accurate focusing at super-telephoto focal lengths with shallow depth of field is possible thanks to the AF performed by the image sensor.

3. Weather and dust-resistant and -10°C low-temperature operation

Using the teleconverter with a weather-resistant camera and lens, such as the “FUJIFILM X-T1” premium mirrorless camera and the “FUJINON Lens XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR”, does not affect the weather resistance of the system.

4. High-grade subtle appearance

The teleconverter’s high grade metal exterior has been designed with the X system in mind. When attached to a compatible FUJINON lens, the two products appear as one single lens.

With a multiplying factor of 1.4x, the Fujinon Teleconverter XF1.4X TC WR can extend the telephoto area of some X Mount lenses and is an ideal partner for the XF 50-140mm f/2.8R LM OIS WR lens. Weather and dust resistant, it is usable at temperatures as low as -10°C. The optical design comprises seven elements in three groups and the lens features excellent aberration suppression, despite a loss of approximately one stop in light transmission. Once mounted, the camera displays and records information, reflecting the change in aperture and focal length. Live View Contrast Detection autofocus is supported and accurate focusing with a shallow depth of field is also possible thanks to the AF performed by the image sensor. RRP for this lens is AU$649. It is due for release in November.

Measuring just 45.9mm in length with a diameter of 60mm, it is ideal for portrait, street or reportage photography.

There are eight seals on the lens barrel to keep out rain, dust and splashes of water when shooting outdoors. The metal exterior of the lens ensures durability for a wide range of shooting situations and enables it to be operated easily with damp or gloved hands. It is also weather and dust resistant and can work in temperatures as low as -10°C. This lens is supplied with a lightweight and compact circular lens hood.
