The Fujifilm GFX100RF will introduce a couple of new manual control options.

One of them is a dedicated aspect ratio dial.

In our original rumor we said it would be placed “on the back of the camera“.

Many fellow FR-reader wondered how that would exactly be implemented.

Well, I will try to answer your question as good as I can in this rumor.

But a disclaimer first: since I have not seen the camera, all I can do is to try to give you a rough indication on what to expect based on feedback from sources.

Hence, below you can see a quick and rough rendering I made based on what I hear from sources.

But again, this is far from being 100% accurate, and yet it should give you an pretty good idea on what to expect.

Fujifilm GFX100RF Will NOT Have a Hybrid Viewfinder

We often refer to the upcoming Fujifilm GFX100RF as the bigger brother of the Fujifilm X100VI.

But there will be one crucial difference: according to our trusted sources (THANKS!), the Fujifilm GFX100RF will not have a hybrid optical and electronic viewfinder, but “only” an electronic viewfinder.

I guess this choice was necessary not only to contain the price (the hybrid viewfinder is an expensive part of the camera), but also to contain its size, because FujiRumors readers know that the Fujifilm GFX100RF will be “about as big” as the Fujifilm X-Pro3.

But for stuff that goes, other (and quite intriguing one) makes his debut on this camera, as we reported here.

Fujifilm GFX100RF: Crop Zoom Lever Additional Information

We recently reported that the Fujifilm GFX100RF will have a “crop zoom lever” under the shutter button.

At that time when I received the rumor, I did not exactly know what “under” means, so I did a random GFX100RF rendering with a huge lever integrated in the shutter button mechanism.

But thanks to sources (THANKS!!), we can now be more specific about it.

The crop zoom lever sits below the shutter button and below the command dial (and is not an integrated part of the shutter as my mock-up showed).

So you have the classic shutter button with ON/OFF switch, under that the command dial, and under that the Crop lever.

I hope this clarifies the location of the lever and I apologize if my random rendering created a misunderstanding. But just as you, I have no clue how this camera looks like and I am putting puzzle pieces together along with you.

The Fujifilm GFX100RF Revives Retro with Bold New Features

They told you Fujifilm lost its soul.

They told you Fujifilm bend to the will of mass market and focused on making cameras with PSAM dials.

They told you they were neglecting or even giving up on manual controls.

And then comes the Fujifilm GFX100RF, which ends all this.

Why?

Because not only it will very likely not have a PSAM dial (speculation, not rumor), but it will come with more manual controls than ever:

So you see: not only Fujifilm did not give up on retro and manual controls, but they are actively looking into solution to implement even more manual controls than ever before on their cameras.

And remember, there is also the Fujfilm X-E5 coming in summer 2025, which is definitely not a PSAM mainstream mass-market camera a la Sony, Canon or Nikon.

Dear Retro and Manual Control Lovers: there is a lot to look forward for us in 2025 ;).

And there is also the X-Pro line, which will continue for sure, and even more niche products like the Fujifilm TX-3 digital panorama camera.
