Fujifilm X-H1 will have Same X-Processor Pro of X-T2… Film Simulation “Eterna” X-T2 Kaizen Update Possible?

X-Processor Pro

According to our sources, the Fujifilm X-H1 will have the same X-Processor Pro of the Fujifilm X-T2.

This is great news for X-Pro2, X-T2, X-T20, X100F and X-E3 owners, as it gives us hope that “Eterna“, Fujifilm’s new film simulation, will come also to those cameras via Kaizen update.

Let me explain it…

but before that… our X-H group is exploding… you are welcome to join :)

Film Simulation Kaizen Update for X-T2 & Co?

Now, film simulations are a “processor thing“.

This means that cameras featuring an older processor will not support film simulations, that have been introduced in cameras with newer processors. So, for example, the Acros film simulation on the X-T2 & Co cameras with X-Processor Pro, will never be implemented on Fuji cameras with older and slower EXR processors like the X-T1.

But since the X-H1 features the same same X-Processor Pro of the X-T2 and friends, there is hope that “Eterna” will come also to older X-Processor Pro cameras.

more… and more… and more… is coming :)

Fujifilm X-T2, X-T20 and GFX 50S Firmware Update on Thursday, November 30

Fujifilm will update the Fujifilm X-T2, X-T20 and GFX 50s on November 30 (Thursday).

List of improvements:

Fujifilm Netherlands recently said here that the Fujifilm X-T20 firmware update has been postponed. But I guess Fujifilm was able to fix all issues and is ready to release it on time. You see, even Fujifilm itself can share wrong rumors now and then ;) .

FujiRumors Recommends

  1. Update your camera in any case, even if you do not need the features/improvements that come with this specific firmware update. Fujifilm often implements “undocumented fixes“, which can be as small as a typo in the menu, but also more significant bug fixes and improvements.
  2. To be 100% safe, though, do not update your camera on the same day you need your camera for a paid assignment. In very rare cases, firmware updates can introduce new bugs. If you need your camera on a paid job, wait a few days, check back fujirumors.com to see if there are some bugs with the new firmware in the following days, and if there are no reports, update your camera. But with that said, in 99% of the cases a new firmware will only improve things, and not make them worst. So at the end, always update.

Top Fujifilm Product 2017 – VOTE NOW

Fujifilm Reads You!
See the original FujiRumors Poll, that Fujfiilm used in an official presentation to the Press

Top Fujifilm Product 2017

Ok guys…

I don’t think Fujifilm has something significant to launch still in 2017, so it’s a good moment to ask you, what was the most exciting Fujifilm product of 2017 according to you.

Last year, we had a clear winner, the currently discounted Fujifilm X-T2, with 46% of your preferences. I’m curious to see if also this year the results will be so clear.

I will include again the Fujifilm GFX 50S in the poll, because the official announcement with final specs and price took place only in January 2017.

I will not include the graphite X-T2 and graphite X-Pro2 + XF23mmF2 that have been announced at the beginning of January 2017. Also not included are the Instax Square SQ10 Hybrid camera (currently discounted for Black Friday) and the Instax Share SP-3 Square printer, as well as Fujifilm’s Kaizen firmware udpates.

And remember… not only the very Top Fujifilm Managers officially “Love” Fujirumors, but FujiRumors is by very far Fujifilm’s Nr.1 resource for online feedback*, thanks to your terrific participation.

It goes so far, that Fujifilm even displays our polls in internal meetings. Looks like they simply can’t ignore a community that is able to drop 11,000 votes in a single poll within 2 days ;).

So time for you to let Fujifilm know what you particulary liked this year… and keep up being so active and constructive here on FR, so that Fujifilm will keep up reading this blog and your comments/feedback also in 2018 ;) .

Recently I reached out to another website and asked them if they could kindly quote FujiRumors, when they report about rumors they read on FujiRumors and share on their website.

The website said they won’t quote FujiRumors, because linking to other sites is not good for google SEO search engine results.

Well guys, this is not my philisophy. To me, the community and the best possible service to you comes first of all. This is why I will keep up making miXed zones, which not only cost me a TON of time, but also influence negatively my Google search results.

But I frankly don’t care. I keep up running FujiRumors with the same spirit of the very first day, when I had almost no readers. It’s about people, like me, who have fun with Fuji cameras, and it’s about sharing your work and Fuji love here on FujiRumors, giving you the visibility you deserve.

So don’t worry… may my google search results go to the cellar, I don’t care. Everything I care of is the community… so keep up sharing with me… you will be featured on FujiRumors :)

So here is another miXed zone :)

Fujifilm Releases Firmware Updates for 11 Fuji X Cameras

11 Fujifilm X series cameras just got an update to support the Fujinon XF80mm 1:1 macro. The lens itself will be released on November 30

The compatibility is added with XF80mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro. The accuracy of AF function is improved when the lens is attached.

Not included in the updates are the Fujifilm X-T2 and X-T20 (which will get an update in “late November”), X-Pro2 (to be updated “late December”) and X-E3 (X-E3 Firmware Rumors here).

FUJIRUMORS RECOMMENDS: update your camera in any case, even if you do not plan to get the XF80mm. Fujifilm often implements “undocumented fixes“, which can be as small as a typo in the menu, but also more significant bug fixes and improvements.

National Geographic Declares Fujifilm X-T2 Best Overall Compact Travel Camera 2017… Top 10 Ranking Includes X-T20 and X100F

The end of 2017 is approaching, so get ready for many “Top gear of the year” and similar articles appearing on the web. So let’s start, this time with National Geographic, who listed their Top 10 compact cameras for travels.

This year, there are 3 Fuji cameras in the ranking, the Fujifilm X-T2, the X100F and the X-T20 (in 2015 Nat Geo awarded 2 Fuji cameras, the X-T1 and X100T, as reported here).

Read the whole article “Top 10 Compact Cameras for Travelers” at nationalgeographic here and click on the product link in the list below for specs & price:

About the X-T2 they write:

The X-T2 has everything one would want in a professional DSLR in a APS-C mirrorless camera. The combination of quality manual dials to control settings, speed of image processing, the amazing line lenses and the build quality make this camera such a pleasure to use that many professionals now use this camera as their main system. You simply cannot go wrong with the X-T2 as a high end travel camera; it’s an all-star, all-around team player that just won’t quit or let you down, no matter where your travels take you.”

However, in the features list of the X-T2 and X-T20 they mention the “five-axis image stabilization“. Now, Fujifilm has arguably the best optical lens image stabilization system on the market, but so far, IBIS is something that will come… in a not so distant future ;) .

Anyway, do you agree with this list?

Sure, the Fujifilm X-T2 has weather sealing, so definitely a nice to have feature on travels. On the other hand, nothing can beat the simplicity and lightness of travelling with the X100F. And coupled with the WCL-X100 and TCL-X100, the X100F is a wonderful mini-system with leaf shutter and build-in ND-filter, that makes it so much more versatile than “just” for street photography.

But let’s see what you think about it :)
