Fujifilm Financial Results (April 2023 to March 2024): “Revenue and Profits Soared Thanks to Strong Digital Camera and Instax Sales”

Share

The latest Fujifilm financial results are out for the fiscal year 2023 (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024).

Fujifilm sums up the performance in this single sentence:

Revenue and profits soared on strong sales of INSTAX and digital cameras

Professional Imaging

  • Revenue rose due to strong sales of Fujifilm X-S20 launched in June 2023 and Fujifilm GFX100 II launched in September 2023, in addition to the models released in the previous fiscal year.
  • In March 2024, we launched Fujifilm X100VI, the latest model in the X100 series of high-end compact digital cameras, equipped with a 40.2-megapixel sensor and the latest processor

Consumer Imaging

Achieving the INSTAX sales target of ¥150.0 billion for FY2024 one ver ahead of schedule was a major driving force behind revenue growth in Consumer Imaging

  • High value-added products, mainly INSTAX mini Evo, a hybrid instant camera incorporating digital technology, and INSTAX Pal, a “palm-top camera” launched in October 2023, performed well
  • INSTAX mini 99, the top-of-the-line analog instant camera, was launched in April 2024

Growth Strategy in the Imaging Segment

In the professional imaging business, we will expand our fan base by reinforcing the multi-brand digital camera strategy featuring the X series and the GFX series to develop potential needs of people who want more than just smartphone cameras.

Fujifilm X-T30II Will NOT be Discontinued after Fujifilm X-T50 Launch

Share

According to a new source that has now been “elevated” to the level of trusted source in record times (THANKS!!!), the Fujifilm X-T30II will not be discontinued after the launch of the Fujifilm X-T50.

So both models will coexist side by side for a while.

Now, of course the day will come when the X-T30II will be discontinued. Also the X-T50 will be discontinued one day. But it won’t happen after the Fujifilm X-T50 announcement and the manufacturing of the X-T30II will continue also after the launch of the X-T50.

After the Colossal Fujifilm X100VI Success: Fixed Lens Cameras to Storm the Market, but X100VI Will Rule Them All – and Here is Why!

Share

The rumors about future fixed lens cameras from other brands are intensifying.

And I get it that other brands might be interested in launching their own fixed lens cameras considering that:

  • the Fujifilm X100VI is the best selling camera of the last 15 years at least
  • the Ricoh GRIII is so successful, that Ricoh decided to stop to take orders in a couple of countries
  • the Leica Q3 is enjoying great success too

Now, out of the three cameras mentioned above, the Fujifilm X100VI is the best selling camera by a very large margin.

But, if the rumors are accurate, there might soon me much more competition coming for the Fujifilm X100VI and certainly this motivated Fujifilm to rapidly increase production of the X100VI in order to sell as units as possible before more competition hits the market.

But as much as I welcome future competition, there are two crucial advantage that the Fujifilm X100VI has over other brands.

Venus Optics to Announce Laowa TS 100mm F2.8 1X Tilt Shift for Fujifilm GFX on May 10

Share

As you can see above, Venus Optics will launch the Laowa TS 100mm f/2.8 1X Tilt Shift lens for Fujifilm GFX on May 10 according to reports surfaced at the Chiense social media account on Weibo 独立摄影师联合会 (via asobinet).

The price is rumored to be of almost 500,000 yen (converted $3,250).

That’s still a hefty price tag, but a few hundred bucks cheaper than the Fujinon GF110mm f/5.6.

Fujifilm did launch the Fujinon GF 110mm f/5.6 tilt shift as well as the GF 30mm f/5.6 tilt shift lenses last year, but they have been hard to find in stock.

Actually I wonder if Fujifilm even shipped all those units that got pre-ordered on launch day.

Did you get yours? When did you order it?
