 [UDPATE: THE DEALS JUST STARTED]

This is one the best deals of the year: Fujifilm is about to launch huge savings on many XF lenses (and some already started!!!), and for the first time include also the XF56mmf/1.2 into these deals. In fact, X-shooters favorite lens (according to a FR-poll) will be $150 off.

But there will be much more X-gear in offer. So you’ll be able to save $200 on the XF 23mmf/1.4, or grab the X-T1 body/kit with a $100 rebate. The X-PRO1 with 18mm will be $300 off, same price drop for the X-M1 and much more! I’ve published the whole list with the savings at the bottom.

YOU CAN HELP:  Writing, alone, 570 articles just in 2014 in order to keep you up to date with everything regarding the Fuji X-world is a work of passion, but often also a pretty hard one. But tomorrow you can support this blog with no extra costs for you. If you enjoy to stop by Fujirumors to get 365 days a year free news/rumor/deals coverage and are also interested in these deals, please consider to grab your discounted X-gear using one of the links below. A small commission will be valued back to this blog with absolutely no extra costs for you.

Thanks a lot to those X-shooters, who decide to support Fujirumors this way… your will allow me to keep this website running and to keep up with the rumor sleuthing ;) .

What should be Fuji’s next X-mount lenses to complete the lineup? Tell Fujifilm your dream lenses!

A couple of weeks ago I posted on facebook here and on twitter here a simple table (posted above), showing the X-mount lenses that Fuji has rolled out in the last 2/3 years… and looking back, it’s really impressive how many high quality lenses Fuji gave us in such a short time.

Add to the XF/XC lenses also the Zeiss 12. 32 and 50 lenses + the various Fuji X Samyang lenses and a few more brands that offer Fuji-X mount lenses and I’d say that, after just three years, X-shooters have a pretty decent lens-option (but where are Sigma & Tamron?)

But X-shooters are hungry for more. In fact, over at the FR- facebook page, many of them expressed their “lens wish-list” in order to complete the lineup: an XF 16mm f2.8 tilt-shift, an XF 135mm f/2.8, an XF 56mm f/1.2 with OIS, an XF 8-16mm f/4 ultra wide angle zoom, a fish-eye lens… or what about an XF 105mm f2.8 1:1 macro lens?

Whatever you are still missing, today you can let Fujifilm know which lenses you would like to see coming in 2015/2016.

THE RULE IS: please express just 2 preferences of future X-mount lenses… I know, it’s hard, but I want you to suffer a bit ;).

So, the comments are open… later on I’ll sum them up into a lens-master-poll! And feel free to continue to vote the “favorite lens” poll.

Which X-series lens do you own?

Weather sealing: just a sales gimmick? Lost Fujifilm X20 survives 3 months of rain, dust and bear attacks in the wild!

If I understood correctly, in democracy you can have & express in public whatever opinion you want… but nobody forces you to have one ;-) . And, since I live in a democratic country I’ll now admit in public: I still don’t have a final opinion about the following subject: Weather Sealing!

Personally, I don’t worry to shoot with my Fujifilm X-E2 under light rain (see my wet X-E2 here). Sure, I didn’t test it under heavy tropical rain or in sand storms of the Sahara, and I probably would be afraid to use it in such extreme conditions. But I’m pretty confident that my Fujifilm X-E2 can handle any normal adverse weather condition.

Well, some say that weather sealing is just a sales gimmick… and here is a story that made me think about it.

It’s the story of Claire’s Fujifilm X20 (read her whole story here) that was shared and sent to me by Dan Bailey (thanks danbaileyphoto)… and it’s quickly summarized in the following 3 sentences:

1) Claire lost her Fujifilm X20 in the wild, in an area with many bears.
2) The Fujifilm X20 remained 3 months exposed to rain, dust, wind, sun, animals (bear bites).
3) After three months Claire found her X20 again, put a battery into it… and it still worked perfectly!

Ok, we know that Fujifilm cameras are very well made, but that the X20 would still perfectly work after being completely exposed to the brute force of nature for 3 months, now that comes really surprising for me.

So, let us know in the comments what you think about it. And for all those (like me) who don’t have a final opinion about it, keep in mind what my favorite author, Montaigne, would have said: I know that I know nothing, and I’m not even sure of that ;).

or its successor, the Fujifilm X30 here
