Fujifilm France announces “launch of a vast operation never heard-of in the photography world“ for June 19th.

On June 19th Fujifilm France organizes a show, obviously marketing because it says ….

Des animations photographiques originales
Des performances artistiques
Des rencontres avec les experts de FUJIFILM.
Annonce du lancement d’une grande opération inédite dans le monde
de la photographie…

This translates to :

Original presentations
Artistic shows/exhibitions
Meet the Fujifilm experts
Announcement of the launch of a vast operation never heard-of in the photography world

A pure Fujifilm marketing slogan or is really something big coming soon? June 19th is near, we will soon see what “vast operation never heard-of in photography world” means. I just hope it’s something better than the X-Robot of Fujifilm Middle East (you already forgot it?) ;-)

In the meantime, let your X-dreams and phantasy soar free in the comments.

thx a lot to the FR-reader who shared it via email with Fujirumors.

Tested: XF10-24 review at riflessifotografici (by Donato Chirulli)

It’s refreshing to see a review, where the focus is also on the images more than just on pages over pages of mere technical data and specs. How does the [shoplink 20414]XF 10-24[/shoplink] perform in several lighting conditions, with different subjects and situations? Donato Chirulli of riflessifotografici had some weeks of time to test it. He will tell and show you the qualities of this lens and its shortcomings.

Even if it’s a zoom lens, performances are exceptional. It was somehow expected, especially knowing how good the 14mm is, but it’s always better not to take it for granted. This kind of focal range is not so easy to manage during the design phase but also in the field, but Fuji manged to produce a sharp lens with only a slight resolution drop towards the corners, especially at the widest end.”

Now read and see how the XF 10-24 performs on the field at riflessifotografici here (English Version).

Fuji is listening: button upgrade ready for X-T1 (new source)

Fuji X-T1 in stock check: [shopcountry 21553]

_ _ _

Times for home-made solutions and fixes for the D-pad buttons could soon be over.

In fact, according to a new source, Fuji has prepared a “button upgrade” option that will be available to buy for any existing X-T1 owner. Pricing should be available and finalized in no more than 2 weeks.

The new source wasn’t able to tell me if this would require the camera to be sent to service.

NOTE: just some of the very early first production X-T1 are affected by the “mushy” buttons. If you are not one of those who grabbed one of the very first cameras, then this rumor is of no interest for you.

At BHphoto you can get the X-PRO2 screen protector now and the camera in about 6 months (according to mirrorlessrumors) ;-)

Big Fuji show at the photokina, at least according to mirrorlessrumors here: They say that Fuji will announce both, the X-PRO2 and X200 (both, according to mirrorlessrumors, with non organic new ASP-C X-Trans sensor) at the photokina (September).

They also say, that the X30 will feature a 1” sensor (while xjrumo said here the sensor will be bigger than 1”) and come earlier (dpr rumored here July 3rd).

The elusive (and “phenomenal”) XF56mm f/1.2 in stock at BestBuy!

 photo as_zps63964a92.png

Today Andrew Warren Wilson contacted me on my facebook page and said: “Hey Patrick, I recently acquired a 56mm and have done a few commercial shoots as of late. It’s a phenomenal lens. Probably the sharpest I’ve ever owned. The sharpness at 1.2 is stellar. This goes for any opening (that I tried)! The Bokeh is dreamy. I can’t get enough of its build and clarity and sharpness. My only grip is blemishes. I have to do a ton of post processing to clean up the detail that this lens picks up. Included are a few images. Feel free to include a link to my site for more examples! (the site does include some NSFW images)”

The XF56mm f/1.2 is very hard to find in stock at the moment. But BestBuy has a limited number available here.
