X-T2 Firmware ver 1.10

Fujifilm just announced that the X-T2 Firmware ver. 1.10 will be release on November 8… and let’s hope that this time there won’t be a last minute bug that forces Fujifilm to postpone it ;)

It will also fix some bugs, not mentioned in the press release.

Press Release

T. Northrup Reviews Fujifilm X-T2 Vs. Sony A6300, A7RII, GH4 and 5DS-R :: “Best MILC for Action We Have Ever Used!”

Share

Tony Northrup’s review is online now on his youtube channel here. Among the others he says:

  • ACTION: X-T2 Best Mirrorless camera they have ever tested for Sports
  • Controls are brilliant
  • sadly no touch screen
  • X-T2 is their favorite travel camera
  • WiFi app needs improvemets
  • battery life not great
  • no IBIS
  • RAW and JPEG Image Quality is on par with Nikon and Sony APS-C cameras, but twice as much noise as FF cameras
  • not great for portraits, because Eye detection works not as reliable as the Sony eye detection. Better use the joystick on the X-T2
  • dual memory card slot
  • The X-T2 with Fujinon 50-140mm is sharper than the Canon 70-200 on the 50MP Canon 5DS-R
  • Canon/Nikon: wider variety of less exensive and high quality lenses
  • Very good Video camera

New York: Fujifilm Offers Free Check and Clean at Their NY Wonder Photo Shop Every Last Friday Of the Month (Free Coffee Included :) )

free

As you might or might not know, Fujiiflm has a “Wonder Photo Shop” in New York. You can check out all the latest and greatest X-gear there, Instax products and more.

Well, a few days ago, a FR-reader dropped me the Fuji Newsletter you can see above (thanks). It says that every last Friday of the month, you can go to Fujifilm’s Wonder Photo Shop with you X-gear and let it do a check-up for free, which inlcudes:

“Updated Firmware (if available for model), Sensor Cleaning (interchangeable X Series cameras only), General Focus, and Function Check (all models)”

I’d love to see many cool Apple-Stores Fuji-Stores all around the world… do you know of some more? Drop them in the comments down below.

FujiRumors Reader Bob Feedback:

I was just in today and had a couple of my bodies and a lens cleaned – it takes about 45 mins (mostly due to a small line of folks having the service done).

They have free coffee while you wait, and all the X-gear to play with. You can even borrow any of the gear for a few hours to test (free ‘rental’), just leave an ID and credit card)

It’s a fun store – definitely more geared towards hobbyists and the Instax crowd, but worth the visit if you live in town or are visiting.

You can also stop by Eisenberg’s sandwich stop right next door for the quintessential NYC Diner experience and a few extra cholesterol points while you wait ;)”

guest post by Serge – srglevin.com

There are many posts about people switching to the Fuji system, and this is just another, which hopefully is a testament to the direction of the brand.

I’ve tried, extensively, and full-frame always – Nikon, Canon, Sony, and even Leica. For my uses, which is semi-professional, Fuji is perfect. The system hits the sweet spot of IQ and joy of use. Just as a famous street photographer once said during a workshop, best camera is the one that doesn’t get in the way, is the way i feel about Fuji.

I switched to Fuji when X-Pro 2 came out and quickly acquired fuji 16mm f1.4 23mm f1.4, 35mm f2, 52mm f1.2 and 90mm f2. I love primes and Fuji’s size to quality hits the perfect spot for me. I don’t miss full frame, or the added weight (and the cost of everything :)). Did i mention how quiet and smooth the X-Pro2 shutter is?

And of course, here are some pictures!

I’m glad to have found the system for me!

My name is Serge (srglevin.com) and i’m a Philadelphia based photographer

Thank you for looking
