Introduction

Prior to getting my Fuji X-T2, I used a Black Rapid strap on my Nikon D750. A neck strap and a full frame body with pro glass is painful. With the arrival of my X-T2, I decided to go back to a neck strap as the small size of the X-T2 meant it was feasible. Sadly, most OEM straps are somewhere between “terrible” and “if this was the last strap on earth” so I decided to venture out and seek a aftermarket strap.

My key criteria for the new strap were (in no particular order):

  • Something leather that fitted the X-T2’s retro theme
  • Easy removal of the strap as I don’t like having a strap attached permanently to the camera
  • Neck pad or some form of wider neck section for heavier lenses
  • Good quality
  • Black

It was through the hunt to meet these requirements that the Tap & Dye Legacy Spring Clip Strap came into the picture.

“Brides Magazine” Says Only Full Frame Canon & Nikon Should be Used for Weddings…. Anyone Out there Using Fuji X for Weddings? ;)

Share

Weddings with Fuji X? No Way!

Ok… so I’m hiring a wedding photographer, who will have the important responsibility to capture forever one of the most important days in my life: my wedding.

As a client, what are the essential questions I need to ask my potential wedding photographer?

Brides Magazine (a huge magazine and website) made a list of question that should help us (the clients) to make a well thought-out decision… but especially the answer to one of the question is creating quite a buzz right now.

If the client asks: “What gear do you use?” the answer of the photographer should be “Full Frame Canon or Nikon“. However, after the story broke at Petapixel, Brides Magazine quickly changed the sentence, which now says: “Ideally, your photographer would use the most readily available professional camera…”

Ok guys… it’s their opinion. But also mirrorless can do the job these days. So just share in the comments your experience about using X-series cameras for weddings.

btw, it happens that I live in a rented apartment over a very popular wine cellar, that hosts a wedding almost every weekend in the “wedding-season”. I always look down to the photographer, but, until now, I only saw Canon’s and Nikon’s (as you can see in this image). I’m still patiently waiting to see the first X-shooter wedding photographer… and when this happens, then yes, that guy shouting from the balcony that You Rock!!!… that guy will be me ;).

Silver/Graphite Fujifilm X-T2, X-Pro2 and XF 23mmF2 WR Announcement in January

The Silver Fujifilm X-T2

I’ve received a hint, that the silver Fujifilm X-T2 should be announced in January.

As you might remember, the silver Fujifilm X-T2 already appeared on the web several times, like on this Australian store. It was listed for sale for the same price of the black X-T2. The reason for the leak, is that at a certain stage Fujifilm planed to release both, the silver and black version at the same time, but then Fujifilm changed plans (as so often). Too bad, that stores already had the official documents that included the silver X-T2 and shared the images on their websites.

The Graphite Fujifilm X-Pro2

I’ve already told you a few months ago, that Fujifilm is planing to release a dark grey X-Pro2. Well, according to hints I got, also this one, just like the silver X-T2, should be announced in January. And it won’t come alone…

The Graphite XF23mmF2 WR

Fujifilm will also launch the graphite XF23mmF2 in January… making it the best companion for the new graphite X-Pro2 :)
