Fujifilm X Half: We Tell You What This is!

Share

Do you remember the first ever digital rangefinder camera produced by any brand?

Well, it was a truly visionary and inspiring camera and it’s a huge pity that they’ve stopped making this (or any other) camera.

So what has this camera to do with the Fujifilm X Half?

Well, in the images you can see leaked above, there is a part (which I marked in red above), that made some people wonder what it could be.

Now, I don’t have super-solid 100% accurate info on it, but based on what I have heard so far from my sources, this should be a thumb winder.

On the Epson R-D1 it was used for re-cocking the shutter.

I don’t know for sure what the purpose is on the Fujifilm X Half. Maybe it is has to be pulled to take the next image. Maybe it is used for scrolling through images you have already taken. Or maybe it can be assigned to a certain function of your choice.

I’ve always thought the winder on the Epson R-D1 was a brilliant touch, so it’s great to see Fujifilm incorporating a similar feature into their own digital cameras.
