Fujifilm Promises Lots of Firmware Love in 2026… for Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55

In an interview with CineD, Fujifilm Japan managers announced several firmware udpates coming, especially in spring/summer 2026, for the Fujifilm GFX Eterna 55.

for GFX Eterna 55

  • SDI RAW Output (for Atomos and Blackmagic) coming likely 2025
  • additional firmware updates coming in spring/summer 2026 such as:
    – MXF playback
    – LANC protocol support
    – enhanced anamorphic workflow features
    – electronic ND settings adjustments
    – ND-Auto to compensate exposure automatically

These features will be introduced based on feedback of customers. Fujifilm is also working on an EVF for the GFX Eterna 55 and they showcased a prototype.

No open gate for GFX100II.

There is only one R&D team that develops everything: GFX Eterna 55, GFX and X series.
