New York: Fujifilm Offers Free Check and Clean at Their NY Wonder Photo Shop Every Last Friday Of the Month (Free Coffee Included :) )

free

As you might or might not know, Fujiiflm has a “Wonder Photo Shop” in New York. You can check out all the latest and greatest X-gear there, Instax products and more.

Well, a few days ago, a FR-reader dropped me the Fuji Newsletter you can see above (thanks). It says that every last Friday of the month, you can go to Fujifilm’s Wonder Photo Shop with you X-gear and let it do a check-up for free, which inlcudes:

“Updated Firmware (if available for model), Sensor Cleaning (interchangeable X Series cameras only), General Focus, and Function Check (all models)”

I’d love to see many cool Apple-Stores Fuji-Stores all around the world… do you know of some more? Drop them in the comments down below.

FujiRumors Reader Bob Feedback:

I was just in today and had a couple of my bodies and a lens cleaned – it takes about 45 mins (mostly due to a small line of folks having the service done).

They have free coffee while you wait, and all the X-gear to play with. You can even borrow any of the gear for a few hours to test (free ‘rental’), just leave an ID and credit card)

It’s a fun store – definitely more geared towards hobbyists and the Instax crowd, but worth the visit if you live in town or are visiting.

You can also stop by Eisenberg’s sandwich stop right next door for the quintessential NYC Diner experience and a few extra cholesterol points while you wait ;)”

Fujifilm Presents Financial Results for Fiscal Year 2017/3 2nd Quarter: “FUJIFILM X-T2 sold well”

fya

Fujifilm just presented the official Financial Results for the Fiscal Year 2017/3 2nd Quarter here. Among the others they say:

In the electronic imaging field, while the overall sales decreased due to the negative impact of yen appreciation and other factors, the sales of flagship models of the mirrorless digital camera FUJIFILM X-T2, which was launched in September sold well

The sales of instant photo systems such as the instax series and instax films, remained strong especially  in the United States and Europe. The high-value-added printing businesses such as the  photobook services expanded. In the electronic imaging field, the sales of digital cameras decreased due to the negative impact of yen appreciation and other factors, while the sales of such flagship models of the mirrorless digital camera as FUJIFILM X-Pro2 and FUJIFILM X-T2, and interchangeable lenses increased steadily.

Fujifilm X-T10 (and X-E2) Probably Still NOT Discontinued!

fujifilm-x-t10-discontinued

Back in September, I reported here how Fujifilm itself, over at their official Japanese Fujifilm X-T10 and X-E2 pages, wrote a note that “this product [X-T10 and X-E2] has ended production” – google translated

None of my sources could ever confirm this, but since it has been officially shared by Fujifilm, I had no reason to doubt that. I mean… Fujifilm Japan must be considered a trusted source, right?

But you know, not even Fujifilm itself has a 100% hit rate. In fact, it seems they were a bit to overhasty to mark it as discontinued and after the FujiRumors articles, they removed the note, that the production ended – see the Japanese X-T10 product page here and X-E2 page here. So Fujifilm is still manufacturing them (if we can trust Fujifilm ;) ) .

thanks to the FR-reader for the link :)
