Firmware Updates for Fringer EF-GFX Pro, EF-FX Pro III/II, EF-FX Ultra and EF-FX II

Fringer has released firmware updates for their Fujifilm X and GFX AF adapters.

  2. Fixed AF issues for some lenses of the following models: Lens didn’t get recognized by the adapter due to different lens version.
    1) SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C015/S014 + 1.4X
  3. Added in-body vignetting and distortion correction profile for the following lenses.

Note: We have fixed the IBIS performance issues when activating in-body correction functions. Now there is no need to turn off the auto corrections for IBIS. But if you prefer to manually set the correction in camera menu, you may still disable the auto corrections. To disable it for individual lens: change the corresponding configuration item’s value to 0.

Silver Fujifilm X-E5 + XF23mmF2.8 Gets a Firm Amazon Shipping Date: Oct 22–28 (if you order now)

You can now order the silver Fujifilm X-E5 with XF23mmF2.8 kit at Amazon with expected shipping on October 22-28 (that’s if you order now, because the more orders are place, the more the shipping will be pushed back).

While the shipping of the Fujifilm X-E5 body is proceeding fairly smoothly (both black body and silver body are in stock), the situation is a bit more complicated for the X-E5 with the XF23mm F2.8 kit, which received significantly higher pre-order demand than the body alone.

Well, at least for the silver kit now we have a solid shipping date from Amazon. You can’t pre-order the black kit at Amazon at the moment, though.

We reported how OM System is now embracing the film simulation recipe concept.

This alone already shows how important recipes can be for the identity of a camera system and the sense of community around it.

In fact, entire books and apps are dedicated to film simulation recipes, proving how strong the demand really is.

And one book I noticed sells very well, for example the 33 JPEG recipes for Fujifilm X cameras.

The book is available at Amazon pretty much everywhere, but it is in German, which explains why it is the often marked as Top Bestseller only in Germany.
