Message to an Anonymous Source with Nick Name, who recently shared some good stuff :)

I’ve been contacted by an anonymous source with nick name, who shared correct information in the past. And since I don’t know how to contact it, I have to do it via FujiRumors blog. I hope you don’t mind.

To the source:

Yes, I always have questions about it… and at the moment especially one (1) question. But as you might understand, I can’t make this question in public via FujiRumors. I’d really appreciate if you could contact me via email instead of rumor box, so we can discuss it.

If you want to talk more with me, then I think that writing blog posts on FujiRumors in order to talk to each other is not really the best way. And moreover, when it comes to delicate stuff like rumors I’m working on, these things have to happen behind the scenes.

You could use your private email (which, of course, I would keep 100% confidential). Or some sources created a fake email account for this purpose. But also Direct Messages on Twitter and Facebook could be a way to talk to me… or even Skype if you prefer.

If you decide to use the rumor box, that’s perfectly fine and I’m very greatful, but I won’t be able to ask questions or talk to you. Just drop me the information you have, with a note what I can share or not.

Up to you.

In any case, thanks for sharing, and I hope you understand that it could be more efficient for us, if we find a way to talk directly… I feel the FujiRumors blog is not the proper way to talk to each other.

Iridient Developer 3.0.7 is Out!

 photo holkaflaksfhs_zpsajyu7mcr.jpg

Another quick turnaround update for Iridient Developer, this one addresses a couple critical issues. One issue is specific to Mac OS X 10.11.x (El Capitan) systems and can result in image posterization or banding with the Vibrance, Shadows (Neighborhood Adaptive) and Highlights (Neighborhood Adaptive) adjustments. Also fixed is a bug with saving the Clarity adjustment to preset and/or settings files when the value is negative. This update adds RAW support for the new Leica M (Typ 262).

XF100-400 to be announced on January 15 for about $/€1,800 (Anonymous Source)

 photo 100-400_zpsgmbbchw6.jpg

According to an anonymous source with nick-name (thanks), the XF100-400 will be announced on January 15 (along with the Fujifilm X-Pro2, with its combined ISO/Shutter dial a la Pentax Spotmatic).

Always according to this source, it should cost about $/€1,800… 100 more, 100 less ;)

Up to you to the the grain of salt or not ;)

The internal Fuji roadmap that you can see below, says that the XF100-400 will be available in March.

XF35mmF2 Review at admiringlight + Capture One 9 Released

XF35mmF2 Review
USA: AmazonUS / BHphoto / Adorama / EU: AmazonDE / PCHstore / AmazonUK / AmazonITA /

Admiringhlight posted its full XF35mmF2 review. From the conclusions:

The 35mm f/2 R WR is a very good lens. It doesn’t quite measure up to Fuji’s top optics such as the 90mm f/2, 16mm f/1.4 or 14mm f/2.8, but it does a nice job balancing small size with very good performance.  It’s sharp across almost the whole frame right from f/2, has very pleasing bokeh, good chromatic aberration control, a very fast and dead silent focus motor and has the added benefit of weather sealing as well.

On the down side, the high native distortion requires digital correction that by default is actually too strong, resulting in some pincushion distortion in the JPEGs and RAWs for converters that support the correction metadata.  This leads to some loss of resolution in the corners, preventing truly tack sharp images across the entire frame.

Fujifilm X-Pro2 :: ISO Dial, Yes or No? Here is the answer… and it could be a Pretty Cool Solution :-) :: SRP

 photo ISO_zpsdezfzaxx.jpg

Will this be the ISO dial solution of the X-Pro2?

One of the big questions regarding the X-Pro2 is: will it have an ISO dial? Looking at the FR-Poll, it’s clear that most FR-readers would like one.

Well, it seems that Fuji listened one more time to our preferences (did you know they read us?), and will put an ISO dial on the X-Pro2… at least according to a source, who was right in the past.

But where will Fuji place it?

I asked the source, if Fuji chose the design solution of the Leica M6, with an angled dial. But it doesn’t seem so. The source said, the solution should look more like the one used for the Pentax Spotmatic camera.

If this is correct, this means there could be a little window on the Shutter dial, where you can see (and adjust) the ISO value. You can see it here… and I have to say that, if true, I actually much prefer it over the angled Leica M6 dial.

I tell you, it’s really hard to get on X-Pro2 rumors. But I’ll do my best, fire off some emails to trusted sources and see if they can confirm the shutter/ISO dial. In the meantime, take the grain of salt.
