This Guy Added a Film Lever to his Fujifilm X100VI

Share

Let me say it bluntly: I genuinely like the idea of the thumb winder on the Fujifilm X half.

And to make things worse (or better, depending on your view), I think the film-style multifunction lever would actually be a great addition to future Fujifilm cameras—like a potential Fujifilm X-Pro4.

I know, 67% of you will probably disagree with me. But hey, at least 33% are with me on this one—as the poll clearly shows.

For now, though, the thumb winder remains a unique feature of the Fujifilm X half. And who knows… maybe it’ll stay that way forever.

But apparently, some folks loved the idea so much, they couldn’t wait for Fujifilm to (maybe) implement it in a future camera—so they went ahead and mounted their own film-style winder on the Fujifilm X100VI, as you can see in the images above (and the video below).

Of course, this is purely a cosmetic “dumb-lever”. It doesn’t do anything—other than give you something to fidget with between shots. And for some, that alone might be reason enough to get one.

Personally, though, I think a thumb winder only makes sense on a digital camera if it also serves a functional purpose, like it is in the case of the Fujifilm X half.

Still, this “dumb-winder” shows that some folks want this feature back on digital camera—one way or another.
