Fujifilm X-E1 and XF 18-55mm Lens test by Brandon Remler.

Brandon Remler (Click here to watch) posted a nice X-E1 and 18-55mm test: “Needless to say I am overjoyed with its performance.  I hit the Quick menu button and flipped the X-E1 in Velvia mode and set off.  As expected the images are sharp and vivid and this is from a pre-production body and lens (it is not without faults because of this so it will only improve).” And he also says: “The new OLED 2.36MM EVF viewfinder is easy to work with and has a great viewing angle for use in all lighting situations (glasses on or off).

The new faster AF and the improved EVF are definitely the biggest highlights of the new X-E1. I am really wondering if Fuji will keep developing the hybrid EVF/OVF solution. I may soon start a poll about this to see what youthink about the EVF versus hybrdi VF debate.

New Fuji X-E1 test and image samples by Roel

Roel.me (Click here) posted a first impression Fuji X-E1 test and included some image samples. He writes: “Fujifilm has done a very good job with the X-E1  – and it is attractively priced.  I know I have referred to the X-E1 as the X-Pro1′s “little brother” – and in some ways, that is an inaccurate description.  The X-E1 is every bit as capable and I suspect the X-Pro1 may get a little jealous with all of the attention the X-E1 is about to receive.  One has to love sibling rivalry.”

Quick fujifilm XF18-55mm F2.8-4.0 R LM OIS lens hands-on at Cnet Asia: “we found it comparable with most 18-55mm kits lenses in terms of speed. However, images were very sharp, and the F4 aperture at the long end does give a more pleasing background blur than most kit lenses.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 18 mm f/2 R test at Lenstip: “You can honestly say the Fujinon XF 18 mm f/2R is a well done lens, fully recommendable to those users who understand what they are buying and what the limits of such a purchase are.
