Fujifilm X-E5 Announcement in June: Expectations, Wishlists and Hopes

So, we just told you that the Fujifilm X-E5 will be announced in June.

I thought it would be nice to update our wishlist for the Fujifilm X-E5.

I’ll make the start:
NOTE: I honestly have no idea about the X-E5 specs. Hence below I go totally with random wishes.

  • Must Have
    – 5th generation processor
    – latest AF
  • Nice to Have
    – 40MP
    – IBIS
    – combined shutter/ISO dial
*** yes, I know that all of this would make it very expensive for an X-E camera. But we can dream here
  • Not Necessary (saves Money)
    – weather sealing
    – dual SD-Card slot
    – improved video features
  • No-Go
    – fully articulating screen
*** fixed screen or simple 2 way tilt screen is all I need

So, that’s my quick list.

I guess only the fully articulating screen would make it a dealbreaker for me. As for the rest, I am willing to pay more to get what’s in my “nice to have” list. And with “pay more” I mean I find it OK if the price goes beyond 1K to have those features.

But I know some might disagree with me, as the Fujifilm X-E line is traditionally one of Fuji’s sub-1K cameras. And probably many want to keep it this way.

If out of everything in my “nice to have” list I’d have to pick one, I’d go for the combined shutter/ISO dial, which is Fuji’s most irrational and yet brilliant dial.

And yes, I know the 40MP and IBIS would give me a more “powerful” camera. But ultimate performance is not why the main reason why I chose to shoot with the X-E line in the first place.

I shoot with the X-E line because I like the experience. It’s simplicity and size, its look and feel.

So if I have to pick between features that make the camera more “powerful”, and others that make the camera more enjoyable to use, I go for the latter one. And the combined ISO/Shutter dial would be the perfect icing on that cake.

But feel free to make your own list in the comments.

Will I buy one?

Unless Fujifilm puts a selfie screen on it (although it has some good use also for stills images), I will get one for myself.

But I also won’t sell my X-E3 just yet… and you should not sell your X-E3 or X-E4 either for the reasons I’ve explained here.

Fujifilm X-E5 – This is When it Will Be Announced!

It is a vibrant excitement and a vivid joy that I come to you to announce you when Fujifilm’s masterpiece, the Fujifilm X-E5, will be announced.

In fact, according to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-E5 will be announced in June.

The Fujifilm X-E4 will go down as the most epic failure of Fujifilm. Not because nobody wanted it. On the contrary, lots of people wanted one, but Fujifilm totally failed to deliver, so much so that they discontinued the X-E4 even before they where able to ship out all pre-ordered cameras.

The obvious consequence: second hand price for X-E4 skyrocketed to a price higher than the original launch price.

I hope Fujifilm has learned the lesson.

I hope they understood that the demand for the Fujifilm X-E5 will be huge.

And I hope they will have prepared accordingly.

Fujifilm FF250001 and FF250003 Registered: Fujifilm X-E5 and One More Camera

Two Fujifilm camera registrations have now surfaced (again) on the web and have been shared by E8M at the Chinese social media platform Weibo here.

One of the two has to be the Fujifilm X-E5, which will come this summer. More likely it will be the FF250001, given the better Wireless.

The other one could be pretty much anything else. The single frequency wireless suggest a lower end model, though. The Fujifilm X-M5 has single frequency, too.

There is also the FF240003 registered, but for that one we have detailed sketches and we know it will be the Fujifilm X Half.

B&H Photo has listed the Fujifilm X-Half teaser on their website.

Fujifilm Gear Coming 2025 – Updated List and What’s Missing!

Last year we investigated how much gear Fujifilm launches every year (see list below). The result: between 2 to 4 cameras a year and 4 lenses a year.

So let’s see at which point we are in 2025 so far.

Gear (to be) released in 2025

So we have 4 cameras coming for sure in 2025, which matches Fujifilm’s best years in terms of number of cameras released. And while we can always hope for a 5th camera, it is also possible that in terms of cameras, this is all we get. What is sure: the Fujifilm X-Pro4 will not come in 2025.

If you look at lenses, Fujifilm has pretty much consistently released 4 lenses a year. So far we know of one coming for sure, the Fujinon GF32-90mmF3.5, and one being rumored, the Fujinon XF23mm pancake. If Fujifilm were to match the previous years, then there could be still 2 more lenses coming in 2025.

At this point in time, I have no idea which additional lenses could come, but I hope that maybe sources will reach out to us and give us a hint of what’s to come. And if that happens (and if sources agree), I will share it will all of you here on FujiRumors.

In the meantime, these are the lenses the FR community wants based on Fujifilm’s suggestions, and these are the most wanted lenses based on our own mega survey.

Gear released in 2024 – 4 cameras and 4 lenses

Gear released in 2023 – 2 cameras and 4 lenses

Gear released in 2022 – 3 cameras and 4 lenses
