Fujifilm X100F Will Take Same NP-W126(S) Battery of Fujifilm’s MILC line!

C’mon Fuji… hurry up and release the X100F… some X-shooters really need the upgrade now :)

Fujifilm X100F – NP-W126s

According to a trusted source, the Fujifilm X100F will take the NP-W126 and the new NP-W126s batteries of Fujifilm’s MILC line-up. The current X100/S/T are using the Fujifilm Fujifilm NP-95 batteries.

I remind you that Fujifilm designed the NP-W126s to optimize the heat-managment.

Feel free to join the Fujifilm X100F facebook group and check out the perfect Fujifilm X100F designed by Andreas here.

TESTED: Third Party Fuji Batteries? “Inflated capacity values. Some batteries almost Fraud!”… and the Winner is…?

New Fujifilm NP-W126 MK II Battery will Generate Less Heat (Trusted Source)

Fujifilm NP-W126

Fujifilm NP-W126 MK II

I’ve received the rumor (from trusted source) that the new Fujifilm NP-W126 batteries will handle heat better. Less heat generation allows us to shoot 4K and use the full power of the X-T2 (via “boost” function on the Vertical Grip).

I remind you that Fuji Guy Billy said here, the X-Pro2 can’t shoot 4K, because it can’t dissipate heat properly.

No word about higher capacity batteries.

End of the Rumor

As far as I know (but correct me if I’m wrong), the main sources of heat generation are:

  • Sensor
  • Processor
  • Batteries
  • Writing on SD-cards
  • Screen/EVF

Heat disspiation is a major problem with mirrorless cameras. Fujifilm could solve all problems, by making the X-T2 camera body significantly larger, but most of us love the compact size of the X-series mirroless cameras.

Also, if you want to maximize the power of the X-T2, you can’t really minimize the heat generated by the sensor, processor, EVF refresh rate or SD-card writing process. So the only thing left where Fujifilm could work on in order to solve the heat-issue are the batteries.

New Fujifilm NP-W126 Mark2 Batteries Coming !!! (Trusted + Anonymous Source)

bo

According to a trusted & also an anonymous source, Fujifilm will launch a New Version of the current NP-W126 batteries.

I don’t know if this is the reason, why currently the NP-W126 is marked as Back-Ordered at BHphoto, while AmazonUS just says “usually ships within 1-4 months“. You can still find it on Adorama, but for ridiculous $100!

Message to the anonymous source: feel free to contact me again via rumor box, using a nick-name and sharing again some details from your previous message, so that I know it’s really you, or you can also contact me via email so that we can interact (you can create a fake email account, if you feel more comfortable).

POLL: Do you want a New Battery for X-Pro2 or keep the same NP-W126 battery of the X-T1 (& CO)?

 photo PRO2 BELIEVE_zpshcohlu7k.jpg

We recently discussed the quality of several third party batteries in this post. There are some very good alternatives to the expensive original Fuji batteries, like Patona, Wasabi and the Watson (and more suggestions in the comments). These batteries are small & cheap. I own 4 of them, so I never have to worry about battery life on my X-E2 / X-T1. Problem solved!

But I’ve heard some in the FujiRumors community asking for a new, longer lasting battery for the X-Pro2.

I thought it would be nice to let you vote on this topic. Should the Fuji X-Pro2 feature a new, improved battery, or keep the same Fujifilm NP-W126 battery, so you’ll be able to use the same batteries you already own for the X-T1, X-T10, X-E2 & CO?

Feel free to drop your vote:

Deal Wars: Amazon, B&H, and Adorama Battle It Out with 4-Day Mega Sales

Competition is a beautiful thing — and today we see another great example of it.

Amazon has just kicked off its massive 4-day Prime event, but B&H Photo [here] and Adorama [here] aren’t letting Amazon steal the spotlight. They’ve launched their own huge 4-day sales to go head-to-head with the retail giant.

Some of the deals are exclusive to B&H and Adorama, while others match Amazon’s Prime pricing — like the Viltrox X mount lens deals currently available at B&H and also at Amazon here.

Here are the dedicated pages:

Of course, Amazon goes far beyond electronics.

Anyway, it might be worth taking a closer look — some of these deals are really solid. I’ve highlighted a few of the most interesting ones for you below.

  • Fully Featured Viewfinder
  • Electronic viewfinder with multiple viewing modes

Highlights

  • Get the stunning looks of the iconic FUJIFILM X100VI with the added creative flexibility of interchangeable lenses. A similar size and weight to the popular fixed lens X100VI, FUJIFILM X-E5 delivers the same analog controls and a film-camera-inspired user experience but gives you the option to switch lenses to suit your creative needs. X-E5 is compatible with over 40 X Mount optics and accessories, including the all-new XF23mmF2.8 R WR, so the perfect image is always within reach.
  • With its offset viewfinder, FUJIFILM X-E5 echoes the timeless style of rangefinder film cameras and features a stunning machined aluminum top-plate. Aesthetically beautiful, the top-plate exudes quality and durability thanks to its premium look and feel as well as delivering a precise, angular design. Perfect for those who favor more traditional camera operation, X-E5 offers analog controls for quick, easy access to core functions, while additional features such as the Bluetooth connectivity button – placed on the base like a film rewind button – enhance the camera’s nostalgic feel.
  • A first for X Series cameras, FUJIFILM X-E5 features a customizable Film Simulation dial. Neatly placed under the aluminum top-plate with a circular window providing an easy view of the active mode, the dial provides fast access to Fujifilm’s unique Film Simulation modes that deliver stunning results straight out of camera. Additionally, the dial has three customizable settings, which give users the option to create and save their own recipes for instant recall in the field.
  • Sometimes the best images are made when lighting is low and, thanks to the in-body image stabilization (IBIS) on FUJIFILM X-E5, you’ll be able to tackle these situations in complete confidence. Providing up to seven stops of benefit at the center of the frame and six stops at the edges, the IBIS system features a new algorithm and upgraded gyro sensor to deliver an improved performance that helps keep crucial images free from camera shake.
  • Image quality is assured with FUJIFILM X-E5 thanks to the latest 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5 imaging engine. This combination brings additional functionality, including a lower base ISO of 125 and deep learning AI-powered subject detection AF across a broader range of subjects. The higher resolution also unlocks a two-step digital teleconverter feature, which crops into the sensor to provide a 1.4x or 2x zoom, giving further in camera flexibility.
  • Thanks to its detailed electronic viewfinder, FUJIFILM X-E5 lets you see every detail when viewing images. As well as providing an accurate preview of the scene, it also provides some additional functions that deliver an experience similar to an optical viewfinder. These include three Surround View modes which allow the selection of a black, semi-transparent or line outline showing the image’s aspect ratio and what is outside of it to better anticipate subjects moving into frame, plus a Simple View option, which emulates the viewfinder from an analog film SLR.
