A source—who contacts us anonymously but consistently uses a recognizable nickname, and who has shared accurate information in the past (THANK YOU)—has now passed along the main specs for the upcoming Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC ART:

  • uses aspherical elements made of SLD (Super Low Dispersion) glass
  • manufactured with advanced polishing technology to minimize chromatic aberration, flare, distortion
  • excellent sharpness from corner to corner already at f/1.8
  • HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) autofocus motor (fast, silent and accurate)
  • excellent control over focus breathing
  • Internal Zoom
  • weight: 535g

Now, Sigma made the Sigma 18–35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for APS-C DSLR cameras (launched in 2013), but that one weights 810 grams. So there is a substantial weight reduction with the Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 DC ART, and it even has more range on both ends.

I guess that’s something we can really look forward to.

EPIC Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 and Sigma 12mmF1.4 APS-C lenses Coming June 17 – REPORT

Share

According to reports shared by Andrea on his YouTube channel (video above), Sigma will launch the following two lenses for APS-C:

  • Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8
  • Sigma 12mm f/1.4 (with aperture ring)

Maybe you remember how back in 2019 Fujifilm launched a public survey asking the community which lenses you’d like next from Fujifilm.

Well, the most wanted zoom lens (overall third most wanted lens), was the Fujinon XF 18-35mm F2. So I guess the new Sigma 17-40mmF1.8 will be on high demand among Fujifilm users.

But the most wanted lens overall in that survey was the Fujinon XF 10mm F2. Well, I guess the Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC DN could make some of those happy, who otherwise wished for the XF10mmF2.

Fujifilm X half App Available

Share

When Fujifilm launched the brand new Fujifilm X half, they showed us some cool stuff you can do with it in conjunction with the new Fujifilm X half app.

Well, you can now already download the new Fujifilm X half app at the Apple Store here and Google Play store here.

The App will be a very important part of the Fujifilm X half shooting experience, especially when you use the analogue mode. So hopefully it will work super smooth with the new Fujifilm X half.

Fujifilm X-E5 with IBIS and 40 Megapixel – The Most Powerful X-E Ever… But at What Cost?

Share

So, we have shared two crucial rumors regards the upcoming Fujifilm X-E5:

Now, every Fujifilm X-E camera launched so far had a price tag below 1K USD.

But this time it seems that Fujifilm has really packed all they can into the X-E5. And because of that, I think (not rumor) that we can forget it to cost 1K USD or less.

I know, I had 40MP and IBIS on my nice-to-have X-E5 wishlist. And I was aware that all this goodness would come at a price.

So personally I was be ready to pay more than 1K for the X-E5 with these features.

But what about you?

Would you consider buying the X-E5 only if it costs 1K or less?

Feel free to vote the survey:

Would You Still Buy the Fujifilm X-E5 If It Costs Over $1,000?
