Fujifilm X100VI Limited Edition for Sale at $18,000

If you thought you’ve seen it all in terms of overpriced X100 cameras, then check out this.

You can now find the limited edition Fujifilm X100VI listed for the ridiculous price of $18,000 on eBay.

I am not sure if and how that guy got his hands on the limited edition X100VI. The screenshots show the order was placed at a “Fujifilm House of Photography”.

As far as I know, only the Fujifilm House of Photography in Australia was accepting “orders” here. However, when you placed your order, you’d simply join a lottery that grants you the chance to buy the limited edition camera if you’re fortunate enough to be selected.

The winners were selected on February 28 and they had 24 hours to confirm their order, which would explain why the order was placed on February 29. So maybe this seller was among the winners selected by the Australian House of Photography and now he wants to resell it for $18,000. Strange thing is that this unit is shipping from USA apparently. So I don’t know how this guy was able to enter the Australian ballot or why he is shipping it out now from USA and not Australia.

Anyway, the Fujifilm X100VI really seems to be a prime target for scalpers (even more so the limited edition X100VI).

And yet, I hope that the prediction many stores have made is accurate (shipping all preorders within 3-5 months). This would mean that by mid-late summer all those scalpers will sit on those X100VI boxes and will have to sell them at a loss.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 First Look by Fuji Guys

We have shared a couple of rumors about the Fujifilm Instax 99 already (the first one back in 2023!)

Well, the official announcement has not yet happened, but the Fuji Guys pulled the trigger a bit early this time and already published their first look. The video has now been removed by I will share screenshots below.

  • 6 color effects that you can select on the dedicated color effects dial (created by LED lights inside the camera)
  • there is an exposure dial to adjust image brightness
  • several modes can be selected with mode button: indoor mode (for low light), sports mode (increases shutter speed), double exposure (merge two images into one), bulb mode (for long exposures)
  • you can combine the modes with the color effects
  • self time
  • various flash options
  • 3 focus modes:
    – landscape modes (from 3 meters to infinity)
    – normal/portrait mode (from 0.6 to 3 meters)
    – macro mode (from 0.3 to 0.6 meters)
  • comes included with base grip with tripod mount
  • perfect blend of form and function
  • premium design

The Fuji Guys did not mention the price but we leaked it for you already here.

Fujinon GF55mmF1.7 ePz Review: “A Superb Lens and Absolute Pleasure to Use”

ePhotoZine has published its technical review of the Fujinon GF55mmF1.7.

What a great lens to handle, and what fantastic results! Fujifilm have given us here a superb standard lens that will hold its head high amongst the very best. Handling is great as well, perhaps not something that we would pop into a pocket for a casual stroll, but definitely something that would be worth carrying to fulfill the quality requirements for landscapes with incredible detail or flawless architectural shots, even with the night lights of the city glaring at us from every angle.

So, be it weddings, advertising, landscape, architecture, heritage, portraits of any other subject that a standard lens could cover, the Fujifilm Fujinon 55mm f/1.7 R WR will deliver the goods and is an absolute pleasure to use. An Editor’s Choice award is duly given.

You might remember how back in December 2023 we told you that Fujifilm would launch the new Instax Mini 99 (successor to the Instax Mini 90). Back than we told you:

It will come with some sort of “filter” that will create unique color and light combination effects never experienced before on any Instax camera such as light bleed effect, green hue effect, red light flare, purple hue and more.

Well, we now have been passed additional information (thanks… and thanks again :) ):

  • there will be six color effects
  • the color/light effects are created by LED lights inside the camera
  • there is also a vignette mode
  • price $200

Note-2:   If you are using a smartphone or tablet with iOS11/Android4.4 or lower, please update the smartphone or tablet to iOS12/Android5.0 or later first and then update the application.
