EU-orders: Julien: “Bought The XF27 and XF60 at amazon.us shipped in france and import fees managed by amazon (paid on order)… Received in less than 2 weeks. Cost me respectively 196€ and 388€ all included (instead of 430 and 580 in France…). I saved 420€… what a deal!” FR-reader Luzu bought lenses at BHphoto: “Choose UPS for international delivery, their option “UPS Super Saver” for around 45$ is the cheapest anyways. If you “pay on delivery”, UPS will handle all the customs work for you and deliver the item home to you where you pay the customs costs directly to the mailman.

Highly Recommended… what else! 56mm review at ephotozine and 10-24 at photographyblog

The X-series is creaming off more “highly recommended” awards! This time they go to Fuji’s latest lenses, the 56mm and the 10-24mm.

ephotozine 56mm review here: “This lens is a fine addition to the X-series lens line up. It is incredibly sharp when stopped down, and performs well wide open too. The build and handling are also of the same high standard we’ve come to expect from Fujifilm. The price of £890 seems quite reasonable when compared to alternatives produced for other camera systems too.”

photographyblog 10-24mm review here: “The Fujifilm 10-24mm lens is remarkably sharp in the image centre at f/4 throughout the entire focal range, and you only need to stop-down to f/5.6 to get acceptably sharp edges too. Vignetting is practically a non-issue, and chromatic aberrations are only noticeable by their almost complete absence. Barrel distortion is also very well controlled, even at 10mm, an amazing performance given the ultra-wide-angle focal length.

The X-virus is spreading… thanks to the X-T1!

It’s a winner, for sure. It’s two months now that the X-T1 is in the first positions of the AmazonUS sales raking. Someone told me that they have never seen so many pre-orders since the [shoplink 14518]D800[/shoplink]. Others told me the X-T1 sells like all the other mirrorless cameras together. Are they exaggerating? Probably yes, but one thing is sure: Fujifilm has never seen something like this.

Now, last week I wrote on the Fujirumors facebook page:

“My favorite author, Montaigne, said: “Even on the highest throne in the world, we are still sitting on our ass.” So I’ll move my humble ass now and take some shots with my X-E2 … and with which X-series camera are you going to take your pictures today?”

There were many comments… and guess what? Among the FR-facebook community the X-T1 is already, by far, the most used X-camera. Just take a look at the FR-facebook wall, the majority of the images have been taken with the X-T1.

And what about the entry level MILC’s X-M1 and X-A1? Despite their great IQ… nada!

So my humble advice to Fuji: stop wasting time, energy and money in the entry level segment and focus on the premium one! Forget everything that hasn’t a viewfinder and manual controls.

Now, here is a selection of the most liked images on the FR-facebook wall.
