Not enough money for the Leica M9? No problem. This is the brand new CSC to buy if you want something cheaper, but with a great image quality!

Thanks to Richard, our reader, who developed this great camera and sent me that image of this gorgeous brand new camera. See it here at amazonUS. 😉

There are some that already compared the Leica M9 and the X-E1. See a short comparison of specs here, and according to this German comparison (translated version), there are 14 reasons to buy the X-E1, and 8 to buy the M9. And also in this comparison, the X-E1 is the winner!

Some of the reasons in favor of Leica are a bit weird.
“It features a manual shutter speed setting” – well, so does the X-E1??
“It has a fixed focal length lens” – the X-E1 has prime lenses.

The same goes for the other comparison that gives the advantage to M9 because it has more 2.1 million pixels than the Fuji, forgetting the sensor size differences.

Really dont know what the point is in comparing the two. (I know its always gonna happen) But they are different cameras aimed at pretty different markets. Doesn’t the xe1 line up in the same market as the nex, canon m etc.

It also says that the X-E1 isn’t a compact system camera with interchangeable lenses, and that it doesn’t have a removable battery. What camera were they actually looking at?

the german comparison sounds ridiculous…i mean comparing movie functions and stereo mic input with a camera that is a pure photography tool sounds more like someone’s trying to find more reasons to justify the X-E1.

I want a green Fuji dot for mine!

    • Scott

Or better yet a green Smiley Face dot.

Implying the Leica M9 would be my choice if I had the money….

Sold my M9 and lenses a year ago specifically because I couldn’t justify such an expensive paperweight when I was getting better results from my X-E1 and Fuji lenses.
