Just came back from a nice hike, and since nobody reported about it, first thing I did once home is to tell you the new firmware is out. Now go and spread the word :)
* our sources say it will not be released in 2019, and probably not even in 2020. But Fujifilm managers confirmed here, that the X-H line will continue
* based on this old rumor rumor ** wishful thinking based on XF10 disappointment *** no rumors. but please, FUJI, PLEASE!!! **** no rumor, just a mere wild guess
Fujifilm Channel X has published an 45 minutes interview with Fujifilm managers from Fujikina 2019. See the video above (sadly not so good audio quality) and a summary down below.
Fujifilm GFX100 market is not the traditional medium format market
GFX 50 already aimed to amateur customers in addition to high-end photography
70% of Fujifilm GFX 50R/S buyers come from full frame. So not only people switch from Hasselblad and Phase One to GFX, but also FF users
the GFX system expanded the larger format market, and GFX100 will continue to expand it
GFX100 should expand market also towards movie shooting photographer
The GFX100 strenghts
compared to full frame, GFX system has better image quality in terms of ISO performance, dynamic range and resolution
traditionally large format camera (including film) are big and for tripod use, but GFX system is smaller, and GFX100 has also IBIS, hence less need for tripod
GFX100 is about autofocus, mobility, quality
EVF
Fujifilm GFX 50 EVF works on GFX100, but GFX100 EVF on GFX50 will not work
Looking at the Fujifilm X series camera release timeline we shared last year, and comparing it with the current rumors, we can say that it turns out to be pretty accurate… except for one camera: the Fujifilm X100F successor (may it be called X100V or X200 or whatever)
The X100 line had a refresh cycle of about 2 years, and given that the X100F was launched in January 2017, everybody speculates it will come very soon, at least within 2019.
But trusted sources now informed us, that the Fujifilm X100V (or X200) will be launched in 2020 only!
This time Fujifilm decided to wait longer than ever to give us a successor.
And by the way, if you want to know which is the Fujifilm facebook group with less gear talk, less gear shots, less gear discussions and mostly focussed on the art of photography and images, than this is definitely our Fujifilm X100 facebook group.
I think this is representative for the people, who buy this camera: never think about gear again. Get the camera, one lens only, and go out and shoot. It’s all about being focused on taking pictures.

Techradar started here, by predicting the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and maybe also the Fujifilm X100F successor in 2019.
Now it’s time for Tony and Chelsea Northrup to predict new gear.
Tony says he noticed a trend at Fujifilm, which is making full frame equivalent fast lenses (XF200mmF2, XF8-16mmF2.8, XF33mmF1.0). Hence, according to his predictions, Fujifilm will launch:
Over a year ago, I told you that Fujifilm will NOT launch more than 2/3 X and 2/3 GF lenses a year (at least not until they finish to expand their lens factories).
And since Fujifilm already has 2 lenses scheduled for this year (the XF16mmF2.8 and XF16-80mmF4), I’d not expect more than 1 “surprise” lens to come (if any).
Thanks to our fantastic sources, 2018 was another incredibly busy and successful rumor year for FujiRumors, with 75 rumors shared (one rumor every 5 days) and a rumor hit rate of 92%.
I hope we could add a bit of fun and entertainement in the Fuji X and GFX world, and that you guys enjoyed the time spent discussing the rumors on this blog.
A trusted source told me (thanks), that the Fujifilm X-T30 will be released in the first quarter of 2019 (January-March).
This pretty much fits with what we expected in our Fujifilm X camera replacement timeline, where we speculated, based on Fuji’s camera refresh-cycle, when the Fujifilm X-H2, Fujifilm X-T4, Fujifilm X-T30, Fujifilm X-Pro3, Fujifilm X-E4 and Fujifilm X200 (or X100V) could be released.
The Fujifilm GFX 50R has yet to ship, so there is not much to find on the web at the moment. However, some lucky photographers are already enjoying to shoot with it, and here is the latest roundup.
