Fujifilm wins “iF Design Awards” for 10 Products and FUJIFILM GFX100 awarded with highest ranked “iF Gold Award”

News is news, so I share it. But I wrote a very informative piece about these awards in the past. So, if you want to read how the business around (some of these) awards goes, check out this article.

Now, I do not know if the iF design award works the same like TIPA, EISA and others, but I would not be surprised if it would.

With that said, the iF Design Awards have been assigned, and Fujifilm wins with 10 products (last year they won 20 awards):

Fujifilm X-T4 Coming with Digital Image Stabilization that Works in Conjunction with OIS/IBIS, X Processor 4 and 240 fps

Thanks to our sources, we are now able to share a couple more Fujifilm X-T4 specs.

  • Fujifilm X-T4 has digital image stabilization (DIS)
  • Digital image stabilization that works in conjunction with IBIS and OIS
  • X Processor 4
  • 240 fps @ 1080p

Interesting to finally see digital image stabilization on a Fujifilm X-Trans camera. Until now, only Bayer cameras had it, as it is easier to achieve with Bayer than X-Trans. Luckily Fujifilm figured out how to make it work also on X-Trans cameras right in time for the Fujifilm X-T4 launch.

Down below you can see all leaked specs so far.

We will now proceed to update our X-T4 vs X-T3 vs X-H1 specs comparison, which is now almost complete.

For your reference, the Fujifilm X-T3 has the following data: 132,5 × 92.8 × 58.8 mm and weights 539 g.

This means the X-T4 is (compared to X-T3):

  • 1.51% longer
  • same high
  • 8.5% thicker
  • 12,6% heavier

The Fujifilm X-T4 will be announced February 25/26 (depending on your time zone here)

Fujifilm X-T4 Price Leaked Now on FujiRumors… and More is Coming!

The same source, who yesterday told us several new Fujifilm X-T4 specs, including the name of the new film simulation, has now shared further details details about the Fujifilm X-T4 with us.

So, after a big THANK YOU to the generous source, we are going to share them with you now.

However, there is one rumor I think needs to be debated separately, as I know you guys are waiting very strongly for it and so it should be highlighted and discussed separately…. and it’s teh price!

So, read now the price, discuss it in this post, and very soon in a follow up article enjoy the rest of the specs.

According to the information we have received, the Fujifilm X-T4 will cost $1,700.

This means you will get IBIS, new battery, higher resolution LCD screen, lots of new features (see next rumor coming soon and previous rumor here) for just $200 more than the Fujifilm X-T3.

To me that’s a fair pricing.

Here is how wikipedia describes bleach bypass:

Bleach bypass, also known as skip bleach or silver retention, is a chemical effect which entails either the partial or complete skipping of the bleaching function during the processing of a color film.

By doing this, the silver is retained in the emulsion along with the color dyes.

The result is a black-and-white image over a color image. The images usually have reduced saturation and exposure latitude, along with increased contrast and graininess. It usually is used to maximum effect in conjunction with a one-stop underexposure.

The Fujifilm X-T4 will be announced February 25/26 (depending on your time zone here)

CP+ 2020 Show Canceled and Fujifilm Pulls Out from WPPI Show

The CP+ in Japan has just been canceled due to the coronavirus. You can read more here.

Also, a FR-reader informed me (thanks), that after many years, Fujifilm will not be at the WPPI wedding & portrait show in Las Vegas. I checked, and indeed they do not show up in the exhibitors list. There will, though, a Fujifilm rep at the B&C Camera booth.

I remind you that Fujifilm will skip Photokina, too.

Get ready to see Fujifilm less at big trade shows, and more on dedicated Fujifilm X Summit events.

Fujifilm X-T4: D-Pad or No D-Pad? The Answer in This Article!

I still remember, when back in August 2017, I shared a rumor, that many of you thought is wrong, but it turned out correct: Fujifilm will remove the D-Pad from the Fujifilm X-E3.

Since then, many Fujifilm cameras saw the loss of the D-Pad:

Even the huge Fujifilm GFX100, that definitely has enough real estate to host a D-Pad, didn’t get one.

Well, I am happy to report, that the Fujifilm X-T4 will remain a welcome exception to this trend and keep the D-Pad, just as the X-T3 did.

The Fujifilm X-T4 will be announced February 25/26. You can find the precise X-T4 announcement time in your country here.
