Fuji Guys Tease Firmware 1.20 for Fujifilm X-T4 with New Heat Management and Introduce Latest GFX100, X-T3, GFX50S/R Firmware
As FujiRumors reported, Fujifilm has released several firmware updates over the last two days:
Now the Fuji Guys posted a video overview on the new firmware.
What’s curious, is that they also talk about a new firmware 1.20 for Fujifilm X-T4, which in fact has not been released. So I guess we will see it coming very soon.
And what does the X-T4 firmware bring? Well, the Fuji Guys tell us the following:
Fujifilm GFX100S: The Beauty is in the Details, Flat Out for Success, Why You Want this Camera and AF on X-T3 Level (pre FW 4.00)
The Beauty is in the Details
In a Fujifilm GFX100S hand-on video titled “Why You Want this Camera” (shared below), a professional landscape photographer says: “the beauty is in the details“.
He obviously referred to the massive amount of megapixel he can work with and the consequent terrific textures and details he gets out of his shots, also thanks to the sharpest lenses you can buy for any mirrorless system: the GF lenses.
But since we talk about the beauty of details, I’d like to highlight one with you that so far passed widely unnoticed.
German youtuber Thomas noticed a little welcome detail on the 3-way tilt screen of his Fujifilm GFX100S review sample. As opposed to Fuji’s previous 3-way tilt screen solution, on the GFX100S you can slide out the screen a bit when it’s tilted upwards, extending it far enough that the LCD won’t be blocked by the protruding viewfinder (see image above).
Nice detail also here :).
With that said, I will share all new GFX100S videos and blog posts below, and the German one of Thomas comes with English summary I made for you (I teach German, so I hopefully do a better job than the automatic google translation tool. And btw., if you want to hear one of my students giving feedback about my lessons, check out this article).
Also the GFX100S video shared by Pictureline called “Why You Want this Camera” is a very nice one, less focused on gear talk, and more on field use of the GFX100S. II found it quite inspirational, I think you’ll like it too.

No New Firmware Fujifilm X-Pro3, X100V and X-T30 Coming Tomorrow
Over on DPReview a member shared a note he received by BHphoto about a new firmware for X-Pro3. And in the comments, a DPR member claimed it will come tomorrow, February 11.
That’s not true. No firmware will come tomorrow.
Other people got confused, and thought that the firwmare has been released already, as fellow FR-reader Thomas, who informed me via Twitter here.
Nope, nothing has been released, and nothing will be released tomorrow.
You have to be a bit patient… FujiRumors will inform you 0.01 seconds after the firmware will be online ;)
In the meantime, check out the official Fujifilm press release about the firmware.
Ultimate Size Comparisons: Fujifilm X-S10 v X-T4 vs X-T30 vs X-H1
Well, the Fujifilm X-S10 product images have leaked and we can now say that our original size comparisons were 100% accurate.
With the product images now leaked, we can also compare the Fujifilm X-S10 with the X-T4 and X-T30 from the top.
So I did a couple of size comparisons by myself and I also added the ones made the FR-community in our previous post (thanks for the work and help, guys).
You can check out the comparisons down below.

Size Comparison: Fujifilm X-S10 vs X-T4 vs X-T30 vs X-T200
Yesterday evening FujiRumors leaked the size comparison between Fujifilm X-S10 and Fujifilm X-T4.
In the comments to that post, some FR-readers took the sketches, and added the Fujifilm X-T30 as well as the currently ultra-cheap X-T200 to the comparison.
I’d like to thanks you guys for the help, and share two of the comparisons you made down below.
We can see, that the X-T30 is still slightly smaller. But not that much, actually, and consider that the X-S10 has also the IBIS unit build into it.
Now, we know the X-T10, X-T20 and X-T30 were absolute best sellers for Fujifilm. But I have the feeling that the X-S10 could do even better, as it features IBIS as well as a nice deep grip, features that many users want and so far could not find in a sub-1,000 Fuji X series camera.
The Fujifilm X-S10 has a terrific potential. Let’s hope it will turn out to be winner for Fujifilm.
Everything will be official on October 15. And everything about the X-S10 will be found on FujiRumors and the big live blogging we are going to have. Feel free to join us. :)

UPDATE: Fujifilm X-H1 / X-T3 Firmware Fixes Video Exposure Stepping
UPDATE: Fixed also on Fujifilm X-T3, according to more reports
Oh, I remember it all to well.
I was on a 2 weeks holiday with my wife in the South of Italy, when Fujifilm released a new firmware update for my Fujifilm X-T4.
Unhappy of the usual “fix of minor bugs” formula, I sacrificed a few hours of my relaxing holiday, and dedicated myself to find out, what had been fixed. Well, I noticed that Fujifilm secretly and quietly fixed the exposure stepping bug in video, and I immediacy told you about it in this article.
Now also 11 other X series cameras received a firmware update, but since I own “only” the X-T1, X-E3 and X-T4 I can’t really check what has been fixed on all cameras.
But luckily I am just a small part of the big FR community, and fellow FR-reader Unnamed for a reason contacted me, telling me that the exposure stepping seems to be fixed now also on his Fujifilm X-H1.
No more exposure stepping in either Auto ISO or Aperture priority. When setting the aperture to Auto, stepping still occurs in 1/3rd stops (which is also still the case with the X-T4).
On my personal X-E3, exposure stepping seems to be still present after the firmware update.
In addition to that, Unnamed for a reason says:
- The wireless communication is much stronger and the camera can be paired at longer distances – Worked flawlessly standing 1-1.5 meters (3.2-4.9 feet) away from the camera.
- There are new items in the flash menu. “MASTER SETTING” “CH SETTING”. I am certain these are meant to work in conjunction with the new Nissin rebranded Fujifilm EF-W1 commander unit and Fujifilm EF-60 flash. I attached a Godox XPRO-F and a TT685F unit to the camera, to see if they are compatible with the new functions, but as of now, these slots remain greyed out.
Thanks a lot for your feedback :)
