2 days ago, Steelsring released a firmware update for the Canon EF to Fujifilm X (ver. 1.07) and Canon EF to Fujifilm GFX (ver. 1.06) smart adapters – thanks to the FR-reader for the link.
EF-FX AF – 298USD (optically improved. New production from better optic supplier)
Baveyes EF-FX AF 0.7x – 428USD (focal reducer, or “speedbooster”)
EF-GFX AF – 298USD
Now Cinema5D met the Kipon guys at the CP+, and they present the new smart adapters by Kipon. You can see the video here. They say the Canon EF to Fuji X smart adapters will start shipping at the end of March/beginning of April
Especially the “speedbooster” version sounds very interesting.
Here is an overview of the current or soon to be available smart adapters for Fujifilm
After Fringer, now also Steelsring has it’s Canon EF to Fuji X Smart Adapter available, for the same price of $299. You can get it here at steelsring.
The Fringer smart adapter sold out after just one hour… so in case you missed it, you can get the Steelsring verison now… before it sells out, too ;) .

Pete Souza, one of the most famous and talented photographers of our times, not least because for 8 years he was the official White House photographer of former president Obama, has now been spotted with a Fujifilm X-Pro2 and XF23mmF1.4 at camerabits Instagram page.
“The Camera Bits Team had a lovely time today talking workflow with the talented photojournalist @petesouza! Here you can see Camera Bits founder and President Dennis Walker with Pete going through his Photo Mechanic workflow.”
And check out @petesouza Instagram to see more of his images (including X-Pro2 pics).
Now he seems to have added the X-Pro2 and 23mmF1.4 to his camera bag…. and there is also a Sony A9 I believe on the same table.
UPDATE: Also White House assistant director Chuck Kennedy used Fujifilm X-Pro2 to photograph Obama. Story here at samuel-zeller.
A Sign of Things to Come?
A superfamous photographer, a Sony and a Fujifilm, all on the same table. Maybe a symbol of what’s to come in the next 3/4 years: a massive exodus of professional photographers from DSLRs to mirrorless, with Fujifilm and Sony leading the market… or maybe not, time will tell :) .
Carlos Saura
But there is more :)
Carlos Saura (wikipedia), a highly awarded film director, writer and photographer, now uses also Fujifilm (X-T1 and X100). In this 4:41 minute video, he will show you his impressive collection of camera and give you a glance behind the scenes of the creation of his latest photography book.
Magnum
We already told you about this project back in October 2017 in this GFX roundup here, but since it fits with this article, I thought to give you guys a reminder.
15 Magnum Photographers will explore the theme of “HOME” for the project. All shot with Fujifilm GFX. Photo exhibitions to take in 7 cities worldwide starting from March. More at home-magnum.
The content is continously updated, so check back the link now and then. They also have a dedicated youtube channel for the project, so feel free to check that one out too.
Welcome to the Fuji X Club… to All of You :)
I doubt Peter Souza and Carlos Saura know of the existence of this little space on the web called FujiRumors, but either way, I would like to welcome these two impressive photographers to the Fuji X Club.
It’s an honour to have you guys on board of the Fujifilm journey :).

2017 was another exciting Fuji X year, and in order to cover it properly, I have shared almost 1,000 blog posts.
A lot of things happened, and maybe some of you might have missed something. So I have checked back all articles and selected some highlights for you. No FujiRumors rumors are included in this list.
It was not easy to pick out a few highlights… but below you can find the list month by month. Let us know what you consider the highlight of 2017.
“It’s my honor to announce the immediate available of EF/GFX 1.2b and CONTAX645/GFX 1.1b firmware update, both of them have a common feature: Original Lens Correction Profile inherited from FUJI lens emulation was finally removed successfully and completely. For more information, please click here.”
I remind you that also Fringer updated it’s C645-GFX smart adapter yesterday, as reported in the Fujifilm GFX roundup here. Also in this case, Fujifilm lens correction is disabled.
Back in August, we reported about a the new Techart Pro Canon EF to Fujifilm GFX smart adapter.

Jonas Rask has published his review about the Techart Pro EF to GFX smart adapter at jonasraskphotography. Make sure to read it all and enjoy the samples.
It doesn’t focus as fast as native GF lenses (obviously) – It doesn’t focus as fast as with the lenses used on a native Canon camera (obviously). But it’s not really that much slower than the native GF lenses. It performs better in good lighting conditions, and it tends to hunt a little in low light. But most importantly, it does achieve focus. And it’s accurate!
Other companies also offer a CanonEF to GFX adapter, such as Steelsring here and Kipon here. Also Fringer offers smart adapters.
Fujirumors is not only a great source for Fujifilm to get feedback about their products and early feedback thanks to rumors, but also a place that keeps the whole community excited and informed. And none of this would be possible without everybody, who helped me with the rumors and the news. Huge thanks to all of you for guiding me safly through the stormy Fuji waters.

What To Expect From Fujifilm…
… and 2 Notes
The Ultimate Fuji X: I know that this camera was in Fuji’s plans, and I know they scrapped it in favor or the Fujifilm X-T2S (which is basically an “ultimate X light”). However, I decided to already move the ultimate X rumors in the wrong rumor section, because I need a public statement of Fujifilm that such plans existed to share it as a correct rumor (as it happened with the X-Pro1s)… and also because otherwise the wrong rumor section would have been empty :)
Fujinon 33mmF1: In January, I reported that the 33/1 has been scrapped. As a consequence, I launched a huge lens request poll, where the 33/1 became the most voted prime lens by the FR-community. The results might have convinced Fujifilm to think about it again, as a rumor recently suggested. Hence you will find 2 rumors down below… the one that says the 33/1 has been canceled, and the one that says there is a little bit hope again.
