BREAKING :: The Fujifilm X100T Successor Will Be Called Fujifilm X100F

Fujifilm X100F

Fujifilm X100F

I know many of you guys are eagerly awaiting rumors about the X100T successor… so here is what I have for you today. I’ve been informed by a New Source (thanks) that the successor of the Fujifilm X100T will be called Fujifilm X100F.

As I told you in this rumor, the expected release for the X100F is 2017. The successor of the X100T was originally planed for Photokina 2016, but after the Kumamoto earthquake in Japan (which affected heavily the Sensor factory), Fujifilm had to deal with a shortage of X-TransIII sensor. So they decided to first focus on the Fujifilm X-T2 and use all the sensors available for the X-T2. Once everything goes back to normal and there will be enough X-TransIII sensors again, then Fujifilm can also release the X100F (in 2017)

Fujifilm’s Biggest Sales Hits & Misses Since 2017 on FujiRumors – Sales Ranking

I owe you an update.

When the X-E5 was launched I told you that preorders were higher than the ones of X-T5, second only to X100VI.

But I also said that we were still in a period in which orders could be canceled and cameras returned. So the true question is: did the X-E5 hold up to its spectacular pre-orders? Or did many cancel their order?

Well, here is the final data.

But I guess I need to give you context.

  • Timeframe: Initial two-week sales period post-announcement.
  • Accuracy: Final figures only (adjusted to exclude returns).
  • Starting Point: all camera announcements since January 2017

Positive Surprises

We can see the Fujifilm X-E5 did exceptionally well. It sold just one camera less than the X-T5 which puts on the third spot with a nice margin ahead of the X-T3.

The Fujifilm GFX100RF is another positive surprise, narrowly bypassing the previous GFX king, the Fujifilm GFX100S.

The Fujifilm X-M5 finally gave “entry level” a reason to exist, by selling very well compared to ever other X-A, X-M and X-T*** cameras Fujifilm launched in the past.

Negative Surprises

I am shocked to see the Fujifilm X-S20 so low in the ranking. It’s one of the best cameras Fujifilm ever launched. And overall the X-S line seems to struggle, given the poor Fujifilm X-S10 results, too. I guess this makes it officially one of the most underrated Fujifilm cameras ever.

Another shocker is the Fujifilm X-T200, which made zero sales here on FujiRumors.

Reality Check

Of course the ranking below is not representative for the entire market, since FujiRumors readers are generally more interested in higher end gear.

Let’s Rank It

  1. X100VI
  2. X-T5
  3. X-E5 – just one camera less sold than X-T5 and well ahead of X-T3
  4. X-T3
  5. X-T4
  6. X100V
  7. GFX100RF
  8. GFX100S
  9. X100F
  10. X-M5
  11. X-H2
    X-H2S
    X half
  12. X-T50
  13. GFX50R
  14. X-H1
  15. GFX100II
  16. X-Pro3
  17. GFX50S
  18. X-T30
  19. X-S20
  20. X-T30III
  21. GFX100
  22. X-E4

Can You Trust FujiRumors?

Another year is over.

And it was another year filled with rumors.

But the true question now is: was FujiRumors even worth your time? Were our rumors accurate? Or did I fell to the temptation to share fake (and even AI generated) rumors for the sake of traffic?

Well, there is only one way to find it out: check every single rumor we have shared in 2025 and see if it turned out to be right or wrong.

  • 83 rumors shared in 2025
  • 5 rumor still to be verified
  • 76 correct rumors out of 77 verifiable rumors
  • 1 wrong rumor (half of the rumor – the more important one – was accurate, but the other half not)
  • 1 rumor not in ranking
  • 98,7% correct rumors

You’ll be the judge.

All I can say is a HUGE THANKS to everybody, who helped me out with the rumors. Without your guidance I’d be lost in a jungle of fake rumors… and the world of Fujifilm would be just way less fun and entertaining. :).

Corporate Propaganda?

And I can hear already some say: yes, you can trust in terms of rumors, but FujiRumors is biased and won’t cover the bad news around Fujifilm, since this blog just spreads corporate propaganda.

Well, to this critique I’ll only say that the most negative video about Fujifilm in 2025 was shared by Edvard. Well, as soon as that video went online, I worked for hours to make a lengthy and super accurate summary of this video in which I report about every single negative thing he says about Fujifilm, and published it instantly in full length and glory. So quite the opposite is true: even the most critical Fujifilm content gets maximum visibility on FujiRumors.

Sure, I love my Fujifilm gear. I guess that is easy to guess from many of my articles. But this does not prevent me from being objective or to express my negative opinions, as I recently did here.

Keep this in mind: this blog is run by a guy with zero connections to Fujifilm. Fujifilm does not pay me, does not send me free gear, does not invite me to events, does not request specific articles, does not give me early access to new products, does not offer me discounts, and does not lend me equipment.

The only support I get for what I do on FujiRumors comes from you, the guys reading these lines. And I owe you the best and most objective coverage on the known Fujifilm universe ;).

The World Looks Better in Fujifilm Colors – You Don’t Believe Me? Then See for Yourself!

Gear Detox – a Waste of Time?

From time to time, we should be reminded that light, moment and inspiration matter more than megapixel, specs and AF speed.

I mean, I am the first to admit that I also enjoy talking about gear here on FujiRumors. It’s fun—there’s just no way around it. :)

But the words we speak here, the chats we have… I don’t print them big, frame them, and hang them on a wall. I don’t print and frame the spec sheet of the latest camera.

What I do print instead are the images I’m most happy with.

And that’s what this post is about—a little roundup of photographs shared by you, the Fujifilm community. It’s a chance to pause the gear talk for a moment and just enjoy what really matters: the images.

And look… I know. These image roundups don’t get many views. They take a ton of time to make. They don’t boost traffic. I guess that’s why no rumor sites make them.

But I decided—I don’t care.

I’ll do an image roundup now, and I’ll try to do more in the future. Because they matter to me. And maybe to a few of you, too.

In a world where others make up rumors in a vile attempt to grab your attention and profit from your good faith, we go the opposite way: we don’t share the endless stream of dubious and fake rumors we receive. Instead, we focus on what matters—enjoying photographs.

I might lose time. I might lose traffic. But I’ll be proud of this article… and of the amazing Fujifilm community that is capable of creating such wonderful images.

Think Great Customer Service Is Dead? Fujifilm Proves Otherwise

A long while ago a reader sent me an article published at The Guardian called “Believe it or not, some companies still put their customers first!”

The article noted that customer satisfaction has fallen to its lowest point in years, yet highlighted a handful of companies that still go the extra mile when it matters most — and Fujifilm was among them.

Here is what a fellow Fujifilm X-T5 shooter from Redditch (UK) had to say about Fujifilm customer service:

“I took a tumble on holiday and broke the screen on my new Fujifilm X-T5 camera. Fuji delivered a post-paid box for me to return the camera so they could assess the repair cost. I was then emailed to say that Fuji had replaced the screen at no cost, and were returning the camera, again at no cost to me. I was expecting major delays and a large bill. Fujifilm have revived my faith in corporates

To be fair, my impression is that Fujifilm’s customer service can vary depending on the region. For example, I consistently hear excellent feedback about Fujifilm UK and several other countries. At the same time, I’ve also received — and shared in past articles — some critical reports from other regions.

That’s why I’d like to open the floor to all of you: let’s collect our experiences with Fujifilm service from around the world. Tell us about the times things went smoothly, and also about the times they didn’t. Hopefully, Fujifilm will take note and use this feedback to raise the bar wherever improvements are needed.

As for me, I’ve had to use Fujifilm service only three times:

In all three cases — two under warranty and one outside of it — I never had to pay anything, and the turnaround was fairly quick.

But now it’s over to you. Share your own stories, good or bad.

And if you’d like to read the original Guardian article that sparked this discussion, you can find it here.

From Newcomer to Legend? Fujifilm X-E5 Skyrockets in FujiRumors Ownership Rankings

A while ago we tried to evaluate the success of the brand new Fujifilm X-E5 by launching a survey on which camera the FujiRumors community owns.

8,279 people dropped a total of 17,894 votes, and here are the results.

  1. X-T5 = 13%
  2. X100VI = 7%
  3. X-T3 = 7%
  4. X-T2 = 5%
  5. X-E5 = 5%
  6. X-T4 = 4%
  7. X-H2 = 4%
  8. X-Pro2 = 4%
  9. X-H2S = 4%
  10. X-T1 = 3%
  11. X-T30/X-T30II = 3%
  12. X-E3 = 3%
  13. X-Pro3 = 3%
  14. X100V = 3%
  15. X-E2/X-E2S = 3%
  16. X-H1 = 3%
  17. X-E1 = 2%
  18. X-T50 = 2%
  19. X-S20 = 2%
  20. X-E4 = 2%
  21. X-T20 = 2%
  22. X-S10 = 2%
  23. X-Pro1 = 2%
  24. X100F = 2%
  25. X-M5 = 1%
  26. X100 = 1%
  27. X70/XF10 = 1%
  28. X10/X20/X30 = 1%
  29. X100S = 1%
  30. X-T10 = 1%
  31. X100T = 1%
  32. X-M1 = 1%
  33. X half = 1%
  34. X-A1/A2/A3/A5/A7/A10/A20 = 1%
  35. X-T100 = 0%*
  36. XQ1/XQ2 = 0%*
  37. X-T200 = 0%*
  38. XF1 = 0%*
  39. X-S1 = 0%*
    *denotes 0,4% or less

So, in less than 1 month, the Fujifilm X-E5 has already surpassed legends like the Fujifilm X-T4 and caught up with one of Fujifilm’s most sold cameras ever, the Fujifilm X-T2. And right now it is just 2% points away from catching up with the Fujifilm X-T3 and X100VI.

If we were to group it in lines, these are the results.

  1. X-T* = 32.21%
  2. X100* = 15.20%
  3. X-E* = 14.61%
  4. X-H* = 9.98%
  5. X-Pro* = 8.56%
  6. X-T** = 8.41%
  7. X-S** = 4.18%
  8. X-M* = 2.25%
  9. X70 / XF10 = 1.24%
  10. X10/X20/X30 = 1.18%
  11. X half = 0.64%
  12. X-A* = 0.56%
  13. Other = 0.51%
  14. X-T100/200 = 0.47%

The Fujifilm X-E5 has pushed the X line close to the X100 line on the 3rd spot of the most owned Fujifilm camera lines by FR-readers.

Is this a success?

That’s too early to say. But it is a solid start, actually the best start of any X-E camera so far (and by far). And this makes me confident in the future of this camera line.

Fujifilm X-T40/X-T30III: Finally Closing the Gap?

go to minute 5:53 of the video to hear the thoughts of Patrick about it

One of the critiques Fujifilm gets is that they have a confusing camera lineup with too many lines.

The Fujifilm X-T30III or X-T40 just fueled again this criticism, but I think this time they don’t deserve it.

First things first: Fujifilm has indeed likely canceled 6 X series lines already (or even 7, if we consider X70 and XF10 not part of the same line):

So we have a total of possibly six canceled lines.

And how many lines has Fujifilm introduced?

Well, 2 new lines have been introduced recently: Fujifilm X half and the Fujifilm X-T50,

Yes, also the Fujifilm X-T50 is a “new line”, because as we told you in this rumor, it does not belong to the X-T10, X-T20, X-T30 line since Fujifilm will launch a dedicated successor for that line (X-T40/X-T30III) in 2025.

And actually there will also be a third totally new line soon, and that camera is already listed at BHphoto here.

In short: Fujifilm has axed more lines than it has created new ones.

With all that said, I think launching the Fujifilm X-T40/X-T30III makes totally sense.

Why?

Well, because Fujifilm’s entry level line has basically been axed (except X-M line) and their other lower-end to mid-range models got an overall specs upgrade with a consequantial significant price increase (X-E5 and X-T50).

At this point in time, Fujifilm has no true entry level camera with viewfinder and that’s a problem if you ask me.

But how could a Fujifilm X-T30III/X-T40 look like?

Speculations (NOT RUMOR)

  • my realistic scenario: X-T30 II body with 5th generation processor and latest firmware
  • my hope scenario: X-T30 II body but with X-T100 alike unique screen mechanism – we reported here
  • my dream scenario: X-T50 body with 4th generation 26MP sensor

Since I think that price matters when it comes to the Fujifilm X-T40 or X-T30 III, I believe they’ll go for the first scenario I mentioned above.

But feel free to let us know in the comments what you think about all of this.

Don’t Hope for Fujifilm X-Pro4 in 2025 :: GFX Eterna in September and More – Mid-2025 Rumor Check

So far in 2025, we’ve had two X Summits, three brand new Fujifilm camera announcements, two X-mount lenses, and even a couple of new Instax cameras.

That’s quite a gear-packed year already!

And with all that gear also came plenty of rumors.

So let’s take a moment to look back and see how accurate we’ve been so far in 2025 thanks to our sources:

  • 59 rumors shared so far in 2025
  • 1 rumor still to be verified
  • 56 correct rumors out of 57 verifiable rumors
  • 1 wrong rumor
  • 1 rumor not in ranking
  • 98.25% correct rumors

What’s left in terms of rumors for 2025?

Well, not much actually. Which is why below I insert also rumors shared back in 2024 that still have to be verified, such as this X-Pro4 release info rumor and Fujifilm TX-3 rumors. All ranked by reliability.

Rumor Overview with Rating

HIGH RATING*
* 75% to 99% correct

  1. GFX Eterna full announcement in September (shared June 4)
  2. X-Pro3 successor not coming in 2025 (shared December 16, 2024)

MEDIUM HIGH RATING*
*50% to 74% correct

  1. Fujifilm Panoramic Digital Camera currently discussed by Fujifilm (not final decision yet) for release in 2028 (shared May 6, 2024)
NOTE: I know that this is highly trusted, so they are discussing it. I just don’t rank it higher because this would otherwise give the impression that FujiRumors said this camera will come for sure. And in any case it is still 4 years away, so plans can change.
  2. Fujifilm TX-3 Digital Panoramic Camera: Fujifilm Debating Between Bayer or X-Trans Sensor (shared September 2, 2024)
  3. Next X-Pro coming with improved hybrid viewfinder (shared September 3, 2024)

MEDIUM LOW RATING*
*25% to 49% correct

  1. nothing

LOW RATING*
*1% to 24% correct

  1. nothing. I mean, it could be the longest list considering the number of fakes I got also in 2025. But we don’t like to bother our readers with fake stuff like others do.
