Many Love This Canon (Sony) Feature, But I Hope Fujifilm Will Never Offer it

Sony is fantastic!

Nikon is awesome!

Canon is king!

Panasonic is smart!

Olympus is my secret love!

Each one of the brands listed above has some features I’d love to see on my Fujifilm cameras.

May it be…

  • the awesome Live ND on Olympus
  • the fantastic video tools on Panasonic
  • the 8K RAW video recording on Nikon
  • Canon’s dual pixel AF
  • Call of Duty on Sony ;).

But there is one feature, that I hope I’ll never see on any Fuji camera… and it’s was first offered by Canon and other brands like Sony followed.

And since once again this came up in the comments such as here, I thought I might address it one time in a dedicated article.

Now, according to How2Fly, the announcement is scheduled to happen tomorrow, September 21.

Also, the guys at the Japanese site asobinet extracted a screengrab from a youtube video I think.

The Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 for Sony enjoys very good reviews:

The next lens to come after the Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 is the Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8.

Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 II Additional Specs: 67mm Filter Size, Weather Resistant and No Linear Motor

When Fujifilm started to release the newest f/1.4 lens trinity, they all got the weather sealing, a new optical design to resolve the 40MP of the X-H2 and X-T5 and they also got a linear motor for blazing fast autofocus.

Well, according to our trusted sources, the Fujinon XF56mmF1.2 II will follow that path, but not completely.

We got told this by trusted sources:

So what the XF56mmF1.2 II will lack over the the latest f/1.4 lenses is the linear motor.

We remind you that the current version uses DC coreless motor (the smallest motor). Stepping motors are better but bigger. So I wonder (not rumor) if this version has a stepping motor.

Before we make any judgment on AF, let’s wait for the real world reports, which will all drop on September 8 and we will cover live here on FujiRumors
