Fujifilm named Thomson Reuters 2018 Top 100 Global Technology Leaders… and the Road to No.1 in Premium Mirrorless Camera Market

Fujifilm has been named (again) amongst the 2018 Top 100 global technology leaders by Thomson Reuters.

In the camera segment, Fujifilm was indeed innovative, by launching a new line of mirrorless medium format cameras with the Fujifilm GFX 50S, that has all the potential to become a game changer in the industry, especially once the Fujifilm GFX 100S hits the market, with its new 8K capable 100MP BSI sensor and faster sensor readout. And also an affordable rangefinder version is coming, the Fujifilm GFX 50R.

On the APS-C front, the current effort is set to give customers a wider range of camera body offers, by adding for example the Fujifilm X-H1 to the lineup, which will have IBIS and is more oriented towards video shooters, as well as giving “older” cameras a refresh, first and foremost the Fujifilm X-T3 by the end of 2018.

And lenses… lots of lenses for both, ASP-C and MF line, as we reported here.

The goal of this huge effort is very humbly described in Fujifilm’s medium-term management plan Vision 2019: “work toward capturing No.1 market share in the premium mirrorless camera market” within March 2020.

An incredibly ambitious goal, but as we can see, Fujifilm has lots of great stuff in the pipeline for 2018/2019, that has all been rumored on FujiRumors already (+ some surprises I am sure ;) )

I am ready to cover Fujifilm’s rise to camera-world domination here on FujiRumors…

… and if you want, you can follow this journey with me, by joining us also on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

Here is a list of some stuff, we can expect, but there will be more…

stay tuned… we are going to have fun :)

FUJIFILM Announces On-Site Service & Support at Olympic Winter Games in South Korea 2018

Fujifilm has announced on-site Service & Support at the Olympic Winter Games 2018 in South Korea for the CINE LENSES.

On site service at big events is something that Canon and Nikon offer since a long time now for their systems and Fujifilm should offer such kind of support for their X and G system, too.

The real deadline for Fujifilm to make the final breakthrough in the world of professional sports photographer, are the Summer Olympis in Tokyo 2020. Fujifilm is working hard to have a nice offer of bodies and lenses ready to replace entirely DSLRs.

The EVF black-out less Fujifilm X-H1 is just the start. The XF 200mmF2 is will follow and more will come… and within 2020, the Fujifilm system should be mature enough also for professional sports photographers.

Fujifilm X-H1 Faster Autofocus Than Fujifilm X-T2

Hey guys…

First off: I have been told this by a new source a few weeks ago, and I say huge thanks to this source.

However, it’s my habit to try to double/triple check rumors from new/anonmyous sources, in order to keep the rumor hit rate over 90% (where it currently is).

So far I still can’t confirm this specific rumor, but after the recent rumor, that the X-H1 will have a basically black-out free EVF (despite sharing the same sensor and processor of the X-T2), I was debating if sharing or not… and now I decided to share, for the reason I’ll mention below.

  • Fujifilm is very likely doing some major coding work on the software, in order to take the most out of the camera’s potential.
  • The bigger body could also allow far better heat dissipation, and as a consequence Fujifilm can really squeeze the last drop of power out of the X Processor Pro, without having to worry about overheating issues.

Almost black out free EVF… even better Autofocus than the X-T2… the Fujifilm X-H1 is not only be Fuji’s best video camera (IBIS, internal F-log and 4K), but probably also an ideal camera for sports photography… especially in combination with the XF200mF2 (mock up here), which will also be released in 2018.

I can’t wait to finally see the real thing on February 14 :)

Switching to Fujifilm in 2018? Here are the Top 2 Lenses To Start With, Recommended by FR-readers – POLLS

TOP FUJINON LENSES

Hi all…

Today I need your help :)

Why? Because one of the most asked questions I get via email is more or less like this:

Hey Patrick, I am switching to Fujifilm. Which lenses do you recommend to start with?”

or

Hey Patrick, next month I will travel to destination XY. Which lenses should I bring with me?”

I always have a hard time to answer these, because I tend to recommend lenses that I like and prefer for my way of shooting. And of course different lenses are good for different types of photography. And different people prefer different lenses.

So I had an idea.

I can escape the responsibility of making all alone lens recommendation in future, by launching a few polls here on FujiRumors, so that all of you guys can vote your own two favorite lenses.

So, if I get the question again via email in future, I will still be happy to give my humble advice, but I can also link to this post, so that people can have a larger feedback, than just my own.

How It Works

Why I Bought Fujifilm X-E3 (and not X-T20, X100F, X-H1)… and Why All this Hate for XF27mm? – FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I’m packing. I’m leaving. A long car ride all to way to Prague is waiting for me.

But before I leave, here is a blog post about why I bought the X-E3, XF27mm and XF10-24, as well as some initial feedback… sadly also something negative amongst it.

But first… make sure to follow our Fujifilm X-E facebook group.
