Fujifilm X-Pro Line Discontinued? Let’s Clarify it in View of a Possible Fujifilm X-Pro4

I recently reported that the Fujifilm X-Pro3 was discontinued at several stores and also Fujifilm distributors in some countries said the same. You can read more here.

This news kind of took a life of its own, as now people go around saying that FujiRumors said the X-Pro line had been discontinued.

So let me clarify.

The news was only about the X-Pro3 being discontinued, not the entire X-Pro line.

So, FujiRumors never said the X-Pro4 will never come.

On the contrary. Personally I believe there will be an X-Pro4. Not because of rumors and whispers, but because Fujifilm itself has mentioned it as one of the camera lines that will continue (also in this case).

The X-Pro line, so says Fujifilm, will be the refined luxury line of Fujifilm. I don’t know what they exactly mean by that, but certainly it sounds expensive. And probably they will continue to make brave design choices that will give it a very exclusive feel. But it’s pure guesswork of mine.

Anyway, that’s why I think there will be one day a Fujifilm X-Pro4.

Fujifilm X Summit in April: What’s Coming? Drop Your Guess!

Fujifilm not only announced a couple of new firmware updates, including rather substantial ones (read here), but they also announced the Fujifilm X Summit for April 2023.

Usually, when Fujifilm announces an X Summit, FujiRumors already rumored ahead what will come.

But this time I have not yet published anything, which makes it very interesting for me to see what your guesses are (and how good they will turn out to be).

What will really come?

Well, just stay tuned on FujiRumors for that ;).

Fujifilm Announces X Summit in April 2023, Massive New Firmware for X-H2S and Promises More Firmware for other Cameras in 2023

Fujifilm has published a video with the New Year Greetings 2023 (vide below). And it comes with a few interesting tidbits.

Most interesting for us:

  • GFX grant challenge winners will be announced in March
  • improved Autofocus system via firmware update for X-H2s
    – improved motion prediction output, for better tracking even if subject moves in and out of frame and speed changes
    – AI deep learning subject detection improvement for tracking human faces in the most tricky conditions, and more subjects can be detected (such as drones)
  • more firmware for other 5th generation cameras are being prepared for 2023 and you can look forward to them
  • Fujifilm X Summit will be held in April with Fujikina to be hold at the same time of the X summit

Of course the X summits are here to introduce new products. Feel free to drop your guess in the comments… the answer will follow on FujiRumors ;).

FujiRumors Turns 11 Years Old Today – What Changed, What Not – And I Have a Few Important THANKS to Say to…

11 years ago I switched on the engine and started driving a road that I had no idea where it would bring me.

The fuel was my new found love for photography thanks to Fujifilm. The desire was to share this love with as many people as possible.

So I drove twisted and often tough roads to find fellow minded photographers. And luckily I found you on my journey, who made this travel more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for.

11 years are a long time, but quite frankly many things feel like exactly on day 1.

  • I still run this blog during breaks from my teacher day job (unless I am on paternity-leave)
  • I still live in the same little rented apartment in a 1,000 soul village in the Italian Alps
  • I am still as thrilled about the future of Fujifilm just as I was when I started this blog
  • I still feel I don’t have enough lenses ;)

Some things changed, though:

  • I married and became father
  • my old Mazda2 had to be replaced by an exciting Toyota Corolla Touring Sports
  • some typos you see are no longer caused by my bad English, but by my son randomly pressing the keyboard while I try to write articles ;)

And since I am just the engine running the blog, but you are the true soul giving it life, I want to say a few thanks to…

  • to Trusted, New and Anonymous sources who helped me to stir fire and excitement in the Fujifilm community by sharing accurate rumors. THANK YOU!!!
  • to supporters: may it be those of you, who use our affiliate links to buy your gear or those who share interesting Fujifilm tidbits with us
  • to readers for trusting FujiRumors and read us regularly to get your news and rumors
  • to those, who drop comments in our articles and keep this blog interesting with your opinions
  • to those who shared constructive critics, as they push me to improve and help me to see what I am doing wrong

11 years. Thanks for being part of it.

Love you all,
Patrick

Tracking Birds with Fujifilm X-H2S vs Sony Stacked Cameras (Best Test I Have Seen so Far)

The German Youtube channel AmazingNature Alpha (who shoots a lot with Sony cameras)tested the Fujifilm X-H2s autofocus with the XF200mmF2 and the XF150-600mmF5.6-8.

Now, there are lots of autofocus tests for wildlife out there. But what sets this one apart from all the others? Well, I’ll tell you below.

Before we dive into it, here are few considerations he makes.

NOTE: it’s in German, so you get it “Patrick-translated” below.
