Top 10 Hottest Topics of 2022: Lost Fujifilm Soul, X-T5 Battery Grip Dispute, No Medium Format Magic & More

When I shared the list of the top 10 articles for 2022, I noticed that some of the articles gathered huge traffic, but are of limited discussion interest.

Take for example the firmware articles. Sure, they always generate traffic, because many people who own the cameras in “firmware need”, go to FujiRumors to check out the details of the firmware and access the download links through our website. But they are not hot topics per se, meaning topics that generate lots of comments and heated debates.

So I thought we should honour also those articles of 2022, that were the most discussed here on FujiRumors. The ones where you guys decided to invest more time than in other articles.

Fujifilm X-T5 Black Body IN STOCK

For the first time ever, the black Fujifilm X-T5 body is in stock and ready to ship at BHphoto here.

Note: in the original article we found the X-T5 black in stock at Adorama, but it quickly sold out. Now you can find it on BHPhoto. Hence we edited the article.

Fujifilm X-T5 Body Only in Stock

Finally also the Fujifilm X-T5 body only can be found in stock.

For example, you can find the silver X-T5 at BHphoto here.

Amazon USA has listed nine (9) silver Fujifilm X-T5 cameras that if ordered now, will arrive to you on January 7.

And the black one?

At the time of this post, Amazon is selling a few black bodies via official Fujifilm retailer Focus Camera here.

Overall situation should be good for the black one soon, too. Adorama says they will get new black X-T5 bodies ready to ship on January 3rd.

If you buy it in kit with XF18-55, then you’ll find plenty of options. The kit with the XF16-80 sold out faster but you can still find some here and there.

The Rise of the Fujifilm X-T5 – Dominating Sales Rankings

Pre-orders for the Fujifilm X-T5 were stellar. So much so that the most wanted option, the body only, is very hard to find in stock and Fujifilm is busy trying to ship all pre-orders as quickly as possible.

At the time of this post, the silver and black Fujifilm X-T5 are ranked in the top 3 of the new releases at Amazon, beaten only by this camera. But it’s easy to imagine that both, the silver and black body together will beat the current Nr.1 (which comes only in 1 color).

Also in Japan things are going very well. The Japanese site digicame-info collected the various rankings here.

Fujifilm X-T5 in Stock Check: Things Get Better at Amazon and Fujifilm is Pushing Kits over Body Only

In many countries, Amazon was the last store to ship out Fujifilm X-T5 cameras (for the reasons I have explained already in the past). But things are better now and in fact they have some X-T5 combinations in stock.

It is also clear now, that Fujifilm is pushing X-T5 kits over body only. If I was Fuji, I’d have done the opposite, as most X-T5 owners are probably upgrading from previous X-T cameras. For us this means that what we find in stock now are X-T5 kits.

My Fujifilm X-T5? Give me Time to HATE it, but For Now it’s (Almost) all Just LOVE

I know when one only writes good things about something, people get suspicious.

So feel free to mistrust me guys, but so far I really have only great things to say about the Fujifilm X-T5.

But give me time, I will find something to moan about. I just need to actually have time to shoot with it.

Because even if I have the Fujifilm X-T5 since a few days already, in these weeks I was so overloaded with work, that I had zero time to go out and take picture.

And yet, holidays are coming and soon my X-T5 will be extensively tested. I might let you know in the next few days. Can’t wait for it.

So what are my impressions so far?

Well, I wanted to make a youtube video about it, but some readers told me they prefer written stuff. So I went hybrid this time, with text to read and just short video clips of 10 seconds in those cases I feel they are useful.
