As we reported earlier, Fujifilm has released firmware updates for the following X gear: X-Pro3, X-T30, X100V and XC16-50mmII.
We have published follow up coverage to the GFX100S here, the GF80mmF1.7 here, X-E4 and XF27mmF2.8 R WR here.
There is only one missing from the big annoucnements we had on January 27: the lovely Fujinon XF70-300mm f/4.5.6.
So far it seems Fujifilm has crafted a very fine, small and affordable lens. And since I get this questions often: yes, it works with the Fujifilm XF Teleconverters!
Remember, another long superzoom is coming in 2022: the Fujinon XF150-600mm!

Here is the summary of part 2 of the Fujicast interview (part 1 here) with Fujifilm Manager Andreas Georghiades :

On January 27, Fujifilm announced three lenses, the Fujinon GF 80mm f/1.7, the XF 70-300mm and the XF27mmF2.8 MK II.
Guess which one enjoyed the strongest pre-orders on FujiRumors?
It’s the most expensive one, the GF80mmF1.7! The lens is marked as top seller at BHphoto and AmazonUS stopped taking pre-orders on it!
We have already seen in our big live blog, that the feedback on this lens is spectacular. Now we add a few more first looks to it.

In the previous (and very interesting) Fujifilm X Lab episode here, Fujifilm engineers and managers showed us a disassembled Fujifilm GFX100S and explained us how they where able to reduce the size of the Fujifilm GFX100S by 30% compared to the original GFX100.
Now the second part related to the GFX100S went online.
It’s again in Japanese and we rely on the automatic google translation tool. But to spare you the suffering to go through it, I will sum it up for you.
It’s all nicely listed down below.
I will also share some Nostalgic Negative sample images that Jonas Rask has published on our wonderful GFX facebook group. For the full set of samples, check out Jonas’ GFX group post here.

Here are the top 10 articles for January.
The little X-E4 beats the GFX100S in terms of most read rumors. But there is one non-rumor article in the list… can you find it? ;)

On Friday we reported how BHphoto marked the Fujifilm GFX100S as top seller.
I decided to check how pre-orders are going here on FujiRumors… and what I saw was rather unexpected.
The first days of Fujifilm GFX100S pre-orders were stronger than the first days of the GFX100, GFX50S and GFX50R pre-orders combined!
Also, it the GFX100S enjoys stronger pre-orders than any mid range Fujifilm X series camera, such as the X-S10 and X-E4.
Only high end X-series cameras like the X-T4 and X100V still have an advantage over the GFX100S.
Sure, this data is restricted to FujiRumors pre-orders (where mid-range is never selling that well). But in my experience, the more high end we go, the more sales made via FujiRumors can be representative for overall sales for high end cameras (meaning a high end camera that does not sell well among the FR-community, also does not sell well overall on the market).
If so also this time, then this means that Fujifilm landed a big hit with the Fujifilm GFX100S, and I am afraid they’ll need a long time to satisfy all pre-orders!
And to every single one of you, who decided to pre-order their new gear via FujiRumors: thanks so much! I will reward your help with some hot rumors ;).

Fellow FR-readers,
at the risk of getting emotional, I owe you an update.
I told you a few days ago that I was about to become father. And I noticed that in the comments people rightfully asked if I am father now or not.
The answer is yes.
And faster than any Fujifilm camera can focus, my son became the biggest joy of my life.
It was like all those moments of happiness I missed in my life, that have been taken away from me or that I was not able to catch, all that happiness I’ve lost on my way until today, the universe did not throw that happiness away, but stored it somewhere in a secret place and decided to give it back to me all at once the moment my son was born.
Or to say it in an even more poetic way: it felt so good like Fujifilm would have released the X-H2 ;).
Sadly, though, during the birth and now also in his first days of life, my son has some struggles and he has to fight a little bit. But he is in excellent hands. They check him constantly, and always give him the treatments he needs. I am confident that in a few days, I will finally be able to bring them home.
Images of my baby?
Well, something strange happened.
We were at 4 hours after the birth, when my wife noticed I hadn’t taken a single image. She asked me if did not want to take pictures. That’s why I brought my gear with me, right? After she told me this, I took a few images, but then stopped immediately and told her “I just want to be in this moment now, I’ll take pictures tomorrow!”
This alone, shows the magnitude of the event… I forgot my gear! ;).
Also, I am not teaching anymore because I am on parental leave. Family is my uttermost priority.
So, that was it already.
I am totally happy.
I wish you all the best and see you soon again on FujiRumors :)

Oh boy, we had an epic GFX100S, X-E4 and Lens live blog yesterday. Make sure to go back and check it out.
Today we add two more to the bunch: the Fujifilm USA introducing the GFX100S. They explain lots of stuff we already know, but they also say some things that might have passed unnotice, like that Nostalgic Negative is inspired by the American New Color Photography.
DPReview shares 3 things we might have missed about the GFX100S. One of the things we might have missed, is that the GFX100S has really great IBIS, that makes it easy to take handheld images that take advantage of all 102 megapixels.
We add to the bunch the Fujifilm Nordic afterparty with Jonas Rask, Palle Schultz and more (make sure not to miss the last part of the video… it’s the most fun one!)
Enjoy it below.

FujiRumors always said that the Fujinon GF80mmF1.7 would cost $2,299. But when nokishita leaked the price of $2,499, some joyfully pointed the finger at me and said I was wrong. But I just checked the price at BHphoto, and I see it actually costs $2,299.
Also, Nokishita said the GFX100S would have 14 bit RAW only. But the official Fujifilm site says it is 16 bit RAW.
I thought it was time to correct these rumors, as somehow they still keep circulating, despite the fact that Fujifilm has acutally annoucned the new gear ;).
But you know… here on FujiRumors we like to be accurate, and we read the official Fujifilm specs list ;)
You can get the full launch coverage here.
Oh… and you know what… more breaking rumors are just around the corner…. really around the corner ;)
