Fuji Guys Explain Which Battery Power Banks are Best for Your Fujifilm Cameras

Fuji Guy Billy shows you the different battery pack options to power your Fujifilm cameras.

  • standard 5V power banks will charge your batteries slower and can’t power your camera while you use it. But it’s a cheap alternative to charge your batteries while your camera is turned off
  • what you should get, is a power deliver battery bank. It can output much higher than 5 volts. For example, the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD (which I own, too), can output up to 20V
  • with higher voltage, you can power your camera
  • if you want to power your camera, use the USB-C PD (power delivery) connection that is on the power bank
  • many of those power banks come with high power deliver wall charger
  • you can connect the wall charger directly to the camera, and it becomes basically your AC Adapter
  • when you buy a power bank, make sure it states “PD” for “power delivery”

Fujifilm officially recommends the following PD power banks on their website.

Mid-2020 Rumor Check: What We Got Right, What Wrong and What’s Still to Come… and About the Fujifilm X-T3 Firwmare Update

Rumors 2020

Half a year of rumors is over, and it was probably the most successful we ever had on FujiRumors.

With a total amount of 44 rumors shared, we are currently sharing more rumors than ever in the years before.

The Fujifilm X-T4 was without a doubt the big one in 2020, and I frankly can’t remember if FR ever leaked so much about one single camera, as we did with the Fujifilm X-T4.

At this point BIG thanks to all our sources, for helping me to keep the Fuji X community on fire. Being a Fuji X/GFX shooter is just more fun, if every now and then we get something hot to talk about… ;).

But…

Sharing rumors is one thing, sharing accurate rumors is another. And since we don’t want you to believe in fake rumors like the death of Fujifilm X-H2 or fake X-T3 firmware leak 4.00, we try to honor the time you decide to spend reading FujiRumors by delivering dry and verified rumors.

Did it work out well so far in 2020?

Let’s check it:

  • 497 blog post published so far in 181 days (about 3 blog posts a day)
  • 44 rumors shared in 181 days (2020)
  • 9 rumors still to be verified and 2 rumors not in ranking (details below)
  • 32 correct rumors out of 33 verifiable rumors

Fujifilm X-T4 Third Party Dual Battery Charger Available and More Batteries

Just yesterday we reported, how the first third party NP-W235 battery can be found in Europe.

Now a FR-reader (thanks) passed me the link to a Chinese third party battery as well as a third party dual batter charger for Fujifilm X-T4.

In USA, you find them available branded as DIGIeye NP-W235 at AmazonUS here. For the same price of a Fujifilm original battery, you’ll also get the dual charger on top of it.

We will soon be flooded with third party options, but not all of them are really good.

Independent testings showed, that some Fujifilm third party batteries can be considered almost a fraud, whereas others are close in performance and reliability to the original Fujifilm batteries (such as Wasabi Fujifilm batteries).

For your convenience, down below is a selection of battery related articles we shared in the past here on FujiRumors.

Wasabi Currently Working on NP-W235 Battery for Fujifilm X-T4

A FR reader contacted Wasabi/Blue Nook, asking if they plan to release NP-W235 batteries for the Fujifilm X-T4.

This is what Wasabi replied to him:

The factory is currently working on that battery. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA on when it will be available.

Wasabi is arguably one of the most appreciated third party Fujifilm batteries and chargers manufacturer. I think (but I am not sure), they are sold as Patona in Europe, which is also my third party battery brand of choice.

You know: the Fujifilm X-T4 comes with a brand new NP-W235 battery. They aren’t exactly the most affordable batteries, but considering that they do perform significantly better than the older NP-W126/S batteries for about the same price, I think that they are worth the money. But nice to see Wasabi coming with some more affordable options.

See all Wasabi products for Fujifilm on this dedicated AmazonUS page.

Fujifilm USA Manager: “Fujifilm X-T4: Lots of Pre-Orders and Available Mid-May”

Fujifilm USA manager Michael Bulbenko made a 10 minutes video on Instagram introducing the Fujifilm X-T4.

Just as the top Manager Toshi Iida said a few days ago in this must see interview, also Michael confirms the strong pre-orders for the Fujifilm X-T4.

But strong pre-orders in times of Coronavirus COVID-19 also introduce shipping difficulties.

Regarding the shipping, I must say I am confused. Let’s sum up the different official statements we got so far in chronological order.

  • March 26: Fujifilm Japan issues a press release, saying that the black X-T4 will ship as expected in late April, but the silver one has been postponed to late May
  • April 2: Fujifilm UK manager says that both colors, silver and black will ship in late April, but body only version. The kit versions will follow “weeks later”
  • April 9: Fujifilm USA manager says that nothing will ship in April, and all will ship in the 2nd or 3rd week of May

Maybe every country will get a different shipping time? That would be unusual for Fujifilm, but in these days everything is unusual.

If we look at stores, BHphoto marks it as available April 30, while Adorama expects it on May 4.

You can see the Manager video and a summary down below.

New Fujifilm NP-W235 Battery for Fujifilm X-T4 Registered

Nokishita just spotted the registration for a new Fujifilm battery, the Fujifilm NP-W235.

What is this for?

Well, as FujiRumors already told you several weeks ago, the Fujifilm X-T4 will come with a complete new battery, so not the current NP-W126 and not even the GFX NP-T125 battery.

Now you know the name: Fujifilm NP-W235.

We will know, see and read everything about the Fujifilm X-T4 on this date.

Looks like we were spot on with yet another rumor (thanks to the source!!!).

And don’t worry… more is coming on FujiRumors, so definitely stay tuned and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, RSS-feed and Twitter.

It’s Gone: Also Fujifilm X100V Without D-Pad

Fujifilm X100V - First Real Life Image
Fujifilm X100V – First Real Life Image

Fujifilm X100V

After we leaked the first real life images of the Fujifilm X100V, there was a debate on if it had a D-Pad or not.

Well, I’d like to end this debate, and tell you that it has no D-Pad.

But that’s not as bad, as it might be on the Fujifilm X-Pro3… let me explain:

Due to the nature of the hidden screen, on the X-Pro3 basically loses the 4 FN-swipe LCD functions (unless you tilt it down).

But on the Fujifilm X100V it will remain easy and fast to access those 4 additional touch FN swipe settings.

The Fujifilm X100V will be announced February 4.

FujiRumors will live stream the Fujifilm X100V announcement from the Fujifilm X Summit.

Fujifilm X-T200 and GF 45-100mm f/4 Announcement January 23 – First Images

Nokishita has spotted the Fujifilm X-T200 registration and the first images here.

The Fujifilm X-T200 is compatible with USB-C and uses NP-W126S batteries.

And just as FujiRumors already told you weeks ago, it comes with X-A7 alike vary-angle screen.

FujiRumors already told you that the Fujinon GF45-100mm will be announced in late January, and not in February. Finally nokishita confirms it.

The announcemt will be January 23.

Fujifilm X-T4 Coming with Completely New Battery – EXCLUSIVE

Fujifilm X-T4

FujiRumors already told you about the “improved battery life” on the Fujifilm X-T4.

Some might think that’s an “obvious” rumor, but if you think so, you are evidently not familiar at all with the Fujifilm X system.

You need to know:

  • it’s since January 2012 (X-Pro1 announcement), that Fujifilm uses the same NP-W126 battery
  • the ancient and glorious Fujifilm X-T1 and X-E1 had a CIPA rated battery life of 350 shots (hence better than X-T2 !!!)
  • there was the battery “S” upgrade, for better heat management (allowing longer video recording), but not better battery life
  • the only improvement we saw in 8 years (!!!) of Fujifilm X MILC system, was the minor jump from 340 shots (X-T2) to 390 shots (X-T3) thanks to the more energy efficient processor

Enough of Fujifilm battery culture… let’s go to the fun part now! :)

Some FR readers kindly asked me if I can be more precise and define “improved battery life” better.

Well, let me try… how about this:

  • the Fujifilm X-T4 will have a completely new (!!!) battery. And with “new” I mean it won’t be the NP-W126 and not even the GFX NP-T125 battery.

Finally, 8 years after the X-Pro1 and 6 years after the original Fujifilm X-T1, we finally get a serious major battery life boost.

And to all avid FujiRumors addicts out there: just relax, there will be lots more breaking rumors coming ;).
