Fujifilm GFX100RF Pre-Orders at Italian Store (Now Removed) plus MESSAGE to Anonymous Sources with Nickname

Message to Anonymous Sources with Nickname

In the last few days I have received a few messages from two anonymous sources with nickname, who shared correct rumors in the past.

I have no way to reach out to sources, so I do it via FujiRumors.

I wanted to let sources know:

  • thanks a lot!
  • some will go online shortly
  • some I have to double check
  • one info is not correct to my knowledge, but I will make my checks

I am sorry I can’t be more specific here on FujiRumors.

For me it is OK to get info via rumor box and make these kind of messages on FujiRumors. For me it is important you know I read your rumors and I work on them. Thanks a lot!

I just remind sources that if they want to have a direct chat with me in which I can be more specific in sharing and comparing rumors before they eventually go online, we have the option to use Signal. If that sounds good to you, then:

Signal can be downloaded on your Phone, but you can use it also on your desktop (it’s required that you have the App installed on your phone already). You can download Signal for Desktop here.

While you need your phone number to register, Signal doesn’t share it with me or anyone else. You can create a nickname to contact me. All 100% anonymous.

GFX100RF

For a couple of days, Italian store otticazanichelli had its pre-order page for the Fujifilm GFX100RF on its website (the image shows the Fujifilm GFX50R though)..

The site has now been taken since a few days already. But here is what I could read on the page for as long as it was online:

To be clear: everything is a rumor until is not officially announced. And as such, no matter how strongly FujiRumors claims it does not have IBIS, nothing is 100% confirmed until it is announced.

But according to information we have received, it has no IBIS. And if we look at the leaked image, it has no OIS either.

So you’ll have to crank up ISO and shoot at faster shutter speeds if you want to freeze camera motion (because IBIS can only counteract movements of the camera itself but not subject movements like people or leaves). And luckily the ISO performance on GFX is unparalleled.

With that said, there are times when keeping the ISO low is important, especially to maximize the camera’s dynamic range (hence use it at base ISO) or counteracting camera motion when photographing completely still subjects. In these cases, IBIS (or a tripod) can be helpful tools.

Fujifilm GFX100RF vs X-Pro3 vs X100VI Additional Size Comparisons

FR-reader Matt estimated the size of the Fujifilm GFX100RF by aligning the width of the hotshot as seen in this image.

In our previous coverage of his comparison he “only” compared the size on paper.

Now he made also a visual comparison and he recalculated the size of the Fujifilm GFX100RF. So here is an update:

Below you can see the comparisons based on this data.

If you want to see the leaked images, check out this article here.

Fujifilm GFX100RF vs X-Pro3 vs Leica Q3 approximate Size Comparison and Dimensions

Size Comparison

Andrea has made a video about the leaked images of the Fujifilm GFX100RF and has made an approximate size comparison between the Fujifilm GFX100RF, Fujifilm X-Pro3 and Leica Q3.

Of course these are very approximate size comparisons, so don’t take them as 100% accurate. But if the size comparison is accurate, then the GFX100RF would look about as wide as the X-Pro3 and Leica Q3, just a little bit higher.

But the more interesting thing is the lens. The one on the Fujifilm GFX100RF looks quite compact as opposed to the lens on the Leica Q3, which protrudes quite a bit from the camera body. This could ultimately make the GFX100RF a more pocketable solution than the Leica Q3, even though it has a sensor about 70% larger than the Leica Q3.

Dimensions

Also, FR-reader Matt compared the size of the Fujifilm GFX100RF to other cameras by aligning the width of the hotshot as seen in this image.

According to this, the size of the GFX100RF should be around 135mm (W) x 94mm (H).

For comparison:

Matt’s calculations more or less fit with the comparisons made by Andrea.

Fujifilm GFX Eterna Might Come Early June (Cine Gear Expo) for about 15-20K USD

DISCLAIMER: this information comes from an anonymous source, so please take it with a grain of salt. Once I can confirm (or not) any of these details, I will share the updates here on FujiRumors.

In late 2024 Fujifilm made the development announcement for the Fujifilm GFX Eterna film camera along with a new dedicated film-oriented lens, the Fujinon GF32-90mmF3.5.

Fujifilm told us that the camera would be announced in 2025, and now we have possibly more information about it.

In fact, an anonymous source reached out to us and told us that the camera would be announced for the Cine Gear Expo 2025 (June 5-8).

The source also said it would cost between 15 to 20K USD, which makes it significantly more affordable than for example the Sony Burano 8K cine camera but also much more expensive than something like the Canon C400 6K cine camera.

I guess it was to expect that the price would be somewhere in between the Canon C400 and the Sony Burano, but I was hoping it would be around 12K to make it a truly aggressive entry in the cine camera market by Fujifilm.

And yet, we have to keep in mind that the Fujifilm GFX Eterna will feature a sensor that is about 70% larger than the one on the Sony Burano and the Canon C400. And the sensor is the most expensive part of the camera.

For example, the old 50MP sensor cost about 2,000 USD at the time when the GFX50R was launched. The new 100MP should be even more expensive than that (around 3K I hear, but I am verifying this).

A Look into 2025 Fujifilm Rumors (and Beyond) and the Ultimate 2024 Rumor Check

Rumor 2025+ Overview with Rating

Time to check how accurate our rumors were in 2024 and get an outlook on the remaining rumors for 2025 (and beyond) with reliability ranking.

As usual, I will be brutal and merciless in my rumor accuracy rating.

How brutal?

Well, here are two examples.

I told you the X100VI would be basically same in size of X100V despite having IBIS. The difference is 1mm. Well, turns out it is 2mm thicker. So while it is substantially an accurate rumor, I list it as wrong.

Also, we misunderstood a source regarding the X100VI silver color. We needed only 3 hours to clarify this misunderstanding and correct it. But still, for 3 hours only, an inaccurate info was online.

WIth that said, here is how things went:

  • 99 rumors shared in 2024
  • 24 rumors still to be verified
  • 72 correct rumors out of 75 verifiable rumors
  • 3 wrong rumors (normal people would say 1 wrong rumor -not about Fujifilm-, but I am brutal to myself)
  • 96% correct rumors
