From Fujifilm: New GF lenses are unveiled for Portraits, Landscape and Architectural Photography, along with new accessories for the ground breaking GFX system.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) has today announced that it will release the FUJINON GF 110mm F2 R LM WR Lens and FUJINON GF 23mm F4 R LM WR Lens in June 2017. Both products are professional interchangeable lenses for GFX 50S 43.8×32.9mm format digital camera. Fujifilm has also unveiled new accessories to complement the GFX system.

GF lenses achieve outstanding ultra-high resolution and have been designed to work with higher resolution sensors in the future. Utilizing the vast knowledge cultivated through the development of the XF lenses, GF lenses are Fujifilm’s finest class of lenses and were designed by amassing various sophisticated technologies of Fujifilm. They are designed to fully unlock the superb performance potential of the GFX 50S.

The FUJINON GF 110mm F2 R LM WR Lens is a medium telephoto lens for portraits. With a focal length equivalent to 87mm in the 35mm format, it achieves a brightness of F2.0 when used wide open to deliver beautiful bokeh. The high resolving power of the area in focus and the rich bokeh unique to medium-format fast-diameter lenses depicts portraits with a realistic three-dimensional feel.

The FUJINON GF 23mm F4 R LM WR Lens has a focal length equivalent to 18mm in the 35mm format and is perfectly suited for landscape and architectural applications. Despite the super-wide angle of view, distortion is kept to a minimum, and with the high-resolution performance extending all the way to the edges, the resulting image is outstandingly sharp.

Both lenses feature fast and quiet AF due to a linear motor, are dust and weather resistant, and are capable of operating in environments as cold as -10°C. The lenses combine high performance and reliability as professional work tools for the working photographer.

Trusted Sources Says Ultimate X-series APS-C Camera will Cost Around $2,000 – $3,000 (POLL)

The Ultimate X

Hey guys,

today I have an update for you regarding the ultimate Fujifilm X-series APS-C camera.

A trusted source told me that previous rumors about this camera were correct. So it confirmed that:

  • Fujifilm is working on the ultimate X-series camera
  • It will indeed be Fujifilm’s most expensive camera in the APS-C line-up
  • X-Trans sensor
  • It will be Fujifilm’s best APS-C camera for video work
  • The camera is still under development, so the final price has not yet been set
  • It will be based on the X-T design

But here is the thing:

The very first rumor I got (and shared) about the “Ultimate X” camera came from a new source here. And after confirmations from trusted source, we can say it was very accurate and gave us many correct hints, except one: the price.

The new source said it would cost $5,000, but the trusted source today said, that the current estimated price for the “Ultimate X” is between $2,000 and $3,000 (depending on which features Fujifilm decides to implement or not).

Do you know what this means?

Since….

  • Fujifilm displays our polls to the press – read here
  • Your feedback can, in some cases, influence decisions of the managment regarding future products, such as the monochrome X-Pro – read here
  • Fujifilm took note of our big request for the X-E3 and said after our pressure that they “are aware of the many X-E3 requests” – read here
  • Top Fujifilm Managers read and “love” FujiRumors – read here

and since…

  • we are in an early development stage of the Ultimate X

… we all should do our homework now, and let Fujifilm know, how we would like the Ultimate X to be.

This is why I will launch a poll, which I will keep quite general for now. I will only ask you if you would like Fujifilm to put simply everything they can into the camera and charge us $3,000 for it, or maybe take out a some features and charge $2,000 for it.

And of course, feel free to elaborate in the comments, which specs exactly this camera should have for the price you would pay.

Needless to say, take such long term rumors always with a grain of salt and stay tuned for the latest updates with FujiRumors on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter

Fujinon GF 23mm F4 R LM WR Announcement on April 19, 2017

Fujinon GF 23mm F4 R LM WR
Fujinon GF 23mm F4 R LM WR

Fujinon GF 23mm F4 R LM WR

The Fujinon GF 23mm F4 R LM WR will be announced on April 19, 2017.

Just as rumored yesterday, on April 19 Fujifilm will also announce the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM.

To me this means just one thing: I have to recover good from my birthday party on April 17, since on April 19 I want to be fit for the Live Blogging here on FujiRumors :).

And in case you missed it, I am selling a “FujiRumors” personalized wooden hand grip (for X-T1), a “FujiRumors” hot shoe cover and also a leather strap here. The value is of $110, and currently the highest bet is of $155. 100% of the money goes to charity to support free education in Cambodia at KNGO, the NGO we collected $3,500 last year with the sale of the fair trade recycled X-shirts.

So help me to make my brithday party awesome, and bid for a good cause (and awesome products) at the auction here (exp. April 17).

Oh, right, also the new Instax Square cameras, the Instax Square SQ and Instax Square SQ10 will be announced on April 19. The Instax Square SQ10 will be a hybrid digital/film camera. All details here.

Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM and Fujifilm INSTAX Square Announcement April 19, 2017

Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM
Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM

Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM

The Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM will be announced on April 19. Just two days after my birthday :) .

Earlier this year, the estimated price of the 3 remaining GF lenses, including the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM, surfaced on the web. I reported about it already in the past here, but here is the rumored price again:

  • GF23mmF4 = $2599
  • GF45mmF2.8 = $1699
  • GF110mmF2 = $2799

Please take them with a grain of salt, not only because they could be wrong, but also because the price leaked a few months ago… enough time for Fujifilm to change the price tag.

My personal guess though, is that you should not be surprised if the GF110mm costs more than $2,800.

Along with the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM, Fujifilm should also announce the new Instax Square cameras, the already leaked Instax Square SQ and Instax Square SQ10.

The Instax Square SQ10 will be a hybrid digital/film camera. All details here.

Fujifilm X-T2 Image Printed on Huge Billboard for Nike :: Fujinon XF 50mmF2 WR Vs. XF 56mmF1.2

Anyone who Questions X-T2 APS-C images…

… can’t do big prints?

In these days, where we are all stunned by the resolution of the Fujifilm GFX, Sean Marc Lee shows that the 24MP APS-C can already print big. In fact, he shoot an image for Nike with his X-T2 and it was printed on a huge billboard. He used the X-T2 w/ 35mm f2.2 1/125.

So yes, also APS-C Fuji’s can get the job done :) You can see the image at Marc’s instagram here. Also from the same campaign, check out in Chinese hypebeast.

Fujinon XF 50mm F2 WR Vs. XF 56mm F1.2

Jordan just shared his XF50mmF2 Vs. XF56mmF1.2 comparison at admiringlight here:

both are very good lenses. The 56mm f/1.2 is sharper at similar apertures over most of the frame, though the 50mm f/2 is a touch sharper at the edges at f/2. Bokeh is a fairly close race, and as both are quite sharp, and both have nice renderings, I’d consider the other factors when choosing between the two.”

Replace Your Standard MacOS Icons with Super Cool Fujifilm Cameras Icons! – UPDATE: Windows Version, too

My Desktop looks much cooler with the New Fuji Icon :)
My Desktop looks much cooler with the New Fuji Icon :)

Fuji Icons for Mac

Fujifilm X100F facebook group member Pawel is still waiting for his X100F, and in the meantime, he tried to manage his impatience by creating some cool Fuji X and G icons to replace the standard MacOS (or Windows) ones.

As you can see in the screenshot above, I’ve already created the X-T2 icon for my Mac (even though I don’t own it). But there are currently a total of 8 icons you can chose (X-T2 black, GFX, X-T2 with grip, X-Pro2 graphite, X100F black, X100F silver, X-20 black and X-T20 silver).

The procedure to change the icon is super easy:

1. Open the info panel of the folder you want to change (Command+i), 2. Locate its icon preview in the left top corner. 3 drag the new icon to this place. Et voila!

And now all you need is the link. It has been originally shared by Pawel at the X100F group here. But since not everybody is part of the closed group or does not have facebook at all, here is the direct dropbox link :) – Windows + Mac

UPDATE: Fujifilm GFX facebook group member Peter made the windows version of the icons. You can download them via GFX facebook group here or my dropbox here.

UPDATE 2: X-E2 Windows Icons: X-E2 silver, X-E2 black

UPDATE 3: Icons for lenses

UPDATE 4: more links in the comments

Pawel, you are GENIUS!!! :)
