Back in July, we reported that Elinchrom announced Skyport Pro support for Fujifilm coming in September 2018.

And just two weeks ago, we leaked the first images of a working prototype of the Fujifilm compatible Elinchrom Trigger (and the source also unveiled to us the reason why we Fujifilm X shooters had to wait so long for Elinchrom support).

But we are getting closer now, and on August 14, Elinchrom also updated their support page and shared more details about which Fujifilm cameras will be supported:

Believe it or not, Fujifilm is used for all kind of professional work.

And it seems photographers love to use Fujifilm also for weddings.

Even 9 year old Regina shot a full wedding on an X-T1 and, unlike someone else, she seems to have no problems to move the focus point :) .

So it happens that Fujifilm gear finds its way into the bags of many wedding photographers – I even met a wedding X shooter casually while cycling around my mountains.

Fujifilm X-T3: Headphone Jack, Exposure Compensation Dial and No Selfie Screen

Yesterday you guys asked me in the comments, if the Fujifilm X-T3 will have a flippy selfie screen like the Fujifilm X-T100.

Well, according to our trusted sources, there is no selfie screen on the X-T3.

And there is more:

  • there is still the exposure compensation dial
  • the Fujifilm X-T3 has a headphone jack

I am sure the headphone jack will make videographers happy (and overall the video specs, which we shared here).

I don’t know what you guys think about the exposure compensation dial, though. Are you happy with it, or would you prefer a secondary LCD monitor like on the Fujifilm X-H1 and Fujifilm GFX 50S?

When the Fujifilm X-H1 was launched earlier this year, Fujifilm Manager Watanabe sair here:

“We couldn’t add zebra [to the X-H1] because of hardware constraints. The processor cannot support it. It requires too much processing power.”

Well, I am please to inform you, that thanks to the more powerful processor in the Fujifilm X-T3, the Fuji X-T3 will now have the Zebra feature.

And overall the video specs are improved, since according to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-T3 will be capable of:

  • 4k at 60p
  • 10 bit (I am verifying if also internal)
  • zebra (real time highlight clipping warning during video)

RUMOR: SIGMA Will Make FUJIFILM X Mount lenses if X series Camera Sales Increase by 20%

Back in 2014, when Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki was asked if they will ever make lenses for the X system, the CEO answered:

“mirrorless cameras are very promising future products. We always plan to expand our product line for mirrorless cameras. If possible, we would like to support as many systems as possible. But our engineering resources are limited.”

At time the X shooter community started to have a bit hope, but sadly those nice Sigma ART lenses never came for the Fujifilm system.

But why?

Well, according to a new source (thanks), Sigma will consider making lenses for Fujifilm X system if they see about a 20% increase in Fujifilm bodies shipping. Take this rumor with a pinch of salt for now.

A 20% camera shipping increase is a very difficult goal to achieve, especially since competition is growing strong in the mirrorless market. But Fujifilm has a pretty affordable powerhorse coming soon: the Fujifilm X-T3. Let’s hope it will help to get closer to those 20% increase.

So while at this point it is difficult for me to remain optimisitc about Sigma supporting the X system in future, the current workaround is use one of the smart adapters for the Fujifilm X / GFX systems, which will allow you to use Sigma lenses with autofocus on your Fujifilm camera.

You can for example use the Fringer Smart AF adapter, with since firmware 2.20 supports the Sigma 50/1.4 ART, Sigma 85/1.4 ART, Sigma 17-50/2.8 OS, Sigma 50-100/1.8 ART, Sigma 24/1.4 ART, Sigma 135/1.8 ART, Sigma 100-400 and more.

Fujifilm is Reaching 50% Mirrorless Camera Market Share and Dominates Sony, Canon & Co… in Narnia Thailand

There is one country, where like no other, Fujifilm mirrorless cameras are selling like hot cakes and dominate all other brands: Narnia Thailand!

It might seem a phantasy tale, but it’s true.

Today I can share with you the precise numbers of the growth (see below), as well as Fujifilm Thailand’s new goal: 50% market share of the entire compact (they probably mean mirrorless*) interchangeable lens camera market (see above)!

50% market share of the entire mirrorless market might sound foolish, but if you look at the detailed data down below, you will see that they are already not too far away from that goal.

We know that in Thailand the X-A line (and very likely also the X-T100 line) sell incredibly well, 2 lines that in Europe and USA don’t have much appeal (maybe the Fujifilm X-T100 could find some bigger fellowship over here… it certainly deserves one).

* Fujifilm managers said in March 2018 to dpreivew: “In Thailand, our market share for mirrorless is over 40%.”
* Fuji Guys Billy said in February 2017, that “Fujifilm is Nr.1 brand in Thailand“. He does not specify if DSLR is included, but it seems from the video he is including DSLR cameras, too.
* in 2016 a source told me that “Fujifilm was the best-selling MILC in 2015, outselling all the Canon interchangeable lens cameras (DSLR and those EOS-M lines) combined“
* a Manager said to Spanish website in 2016, that ““there is a little known fact: in Thailand, for example, X-A series outsells Canon!”

Fujifilm X-E3 Brown and X-A3 double Kit to be Released in Japan on August 9

According to nokishita, Fujifilm will release the brown X-E3 and the X-A3 double kit in Japan on August 9.

I remember you that we reported that Fujifilm USA has currently no plans to sell any brown Fujifilm, neither the brown X-E3 nor the brown X100F and brown X-T100.

The brown colors are available in several Asian and EU countries, as well as in Canada.

If they sell well, I guess also Fujifilm USA will start selling them.
